    The fast combat and maps were nice but I got bored with it very quickly. Eve Valkyrie does it much better and represents the best space dog-fighting I've experienced.

    I like Elite Dangerous overall but the Arena I don't bother with now.

    The problem is the lack of skill in it.

    If the other guy shoots first, you die.
    If you go in two on one, you die.

    The aim on the weapons is so forgiving (even 'fixed' mount weapons have about 30 degrees of traverse) and the ships so fragile that there is no element of skill to fighting. If someone else starts shooting you may as well self destruct there and then. Making the fixed weapons actually fixed and dumping all tracking weapons would fix a huge portion of Arena's problems immediately.

    Then pilot skill might actually count for something, having more 'stuff' in the maps to hide behind wouldn't hurt either.
