The fans arrived from Performance-PCs. Pictures this evening. They are so cute and I can only describe the color as gun metal. The sleaving job from Hank Baron's (fixed- JPH)people is spot on. Black mesh and black shrink wrap. It makes me kind of sad that the only people that will ever see them are our forum friends here. Pictures soon, I have to move the Cooler Master case and the Tivo Series 2 off the bench to shoot pictures.

    John is happy!

John, his name is Hank Baron. Good guy! I'm probably at PPC's once a week or twice a month or so. LOL.

Don't worry about the sleeving jobs not being seen much; any of us that have ever purchased fans from PPC's knows the quality and effort they put into each order. Can't recommend them enough.

    Need some more help!

I have received the mini-ITX boards that will be the brains for Sacrilege 2. BUT ....
I need a link to the manual for an EPIA 5000 mini-ITX board. Specifically, I need to know how to enable video. I have a couple of these boards that power up ( I hooked up a system fan to verify board is hot) but nothing comes out of VGA, S-Video, or composite output. I am using a bootable Linux distro in a CD ROM.
I know that these boards have WAY too many jumpers. :wallbash:

Thanks for all the replies. I found the manual in several places. Now the fitting into Sacrilege begins in earnest

    I got outside

Tired of being sick and tired? Try modding! I got outside today and had to 'mod" a grass catcher for my son for the lawn mower. Generic crap.
Since I was outside anyways and had most of the tools I needed, I pushed myself to work on Sacrilege. No more feeling bad for my self. I'm a modder.
I'll probably pay for it for a couple days but here's what I did.

    Pictures follow:

I hope I got the shape right. No fitting yet and all "just a hair" too big. Need to chamfer the edges and do the final fit.

    Just for scale mind you:

Now I can work on all the pieces in my room, after I throw away the jeans and shirt with the aluminum filings. I tried to work away from me but I live in Colorado and the wind always blows.

Front door and back panel next. I have a new Jetway mini-itx for this one and just got the 1 Meg DDR2 from eBay.

We get closer. What should take an hour now takes 4 but I can't ignore you guys.

Case update and babie's new house

The weather in Colorado got nice and since people were wondering about this project - I went outside today!
I used the early morning hours and the shade on my patio to set up a work area. Grabbed the tools, the coffee cup, and Sacrilege and had some fun.

I decided to make the non-door side of the little case. On the full size case the top handles and the bottom feet and this side are all one piece. I will make it look like one piece again - just not as big. I had the top 2 handles and the 2 bottom feet parts riveted on for now so I need something to span the gap.

8 3/4 inches by 7 inches. I have always maintained that I would use as much of the original case as possible ... well ..

Somebody whacked a piece out of my Apple.

Took the cut out piece for a trial fit.

Not too shabby but the final grinding and fitting will square it all up.
Riveted the little rascal into place for another fitting. I had to square up the top handles a bit and the "front" edge is still not perfectly lined up but it's got the G5 shape.
    and here:

The view inside still shows the original Apple locations for motherboard and wiring stand offs. I just ground them flat for the moment. Some of them are small indents that will be filled.

A lot to do yet! all the main pieces are here except the new door. That will not be as easy as just cutting this back piece. The door has a small lip on the bottom edge that fits into a slot between the feet part and the inner shell. I'll have to cut the door from and original door and keep the lip.

As the title says Sacrilege has a house! An original 1983 Apple carry bag for a Macintosh Classic. Babies house:

    The factory macintosh tag and the full color Apple embroidered logo;

    Mouse pocket on the top:

Side pocket for keyboard with no keypad and a velcro pocket for cords

The fresh air wore her out and she went to bed. ROFL

More to come soon. I need to finish with the JB Weld on the inner case and engineer the door.
All in all it was a fun morning. Took a bazillion times longer than it should because of breaks but we were bonding again and in no hurry.
