Not played BF3 since last thursday though did mange to get about 11 hours in, waiting to get back playing again, pc not working.

Hey guys, i'm struggling to get my VOIP set up - how have you guys done it? I've played around with the settings in the Com Center but it's not really working. Any tips? I'm using the ASUS Vulcan

 

WOO! Power us back on. Now I just gotta wait for the cable company to get the Internet going again. Since my heat just started working my room is still freezing cold and core temp is reading a crisp cool 14c across all 4 cores on -air- cooling. Probably the lowest I'll ever see it.

Hopefully I'll be able to play tomorrow.

Has anyone unlocked the javelin yet and, like me, figured it sucks? Takes forever to lock on and doesn't seem to do much damage. Haven't found any soflam recons yet so who knows if it'll ever become more useful.

 

A quick question, what is this "Skill" stat on Battle log? Apparently I'm so terrible as to have a "skill" of -53. Yes, negative fifty three.

Have I completely misunderstood or is this proof that stats mean nothing?

 

Join a clan with teamspeak to tell a recon to use the soflam. Also I've heard after you lock on aim as high as you can so it hits the top of the tank where their armor is less thick.

 

i too have wondered that, my "skill" is 210.

 

Count your self lucky, my skill rating is -139 with a K/D of 0.49. I'm fooking terribad at this game.
W/L ratio is 0.92 tho.
I am hoping it's down to the fact that I have the game on it's lowest graphical settings but still struggling to hit 30fps, so when the 560ti comes I am gonna turn in to super killer man.

 

I'd ignore it for the time being, mine can fluctuate by several hundred points between rounds.

 

The only numbers that matter in a BF game is W/L ratio and score per minute. A high K/D is nice but those other two are better

I'll blain this on my pissing about with the EOD BOT.

 

just unlocked the EOD bot, really hard to control, and only get 1 watch out, or you will get EOD bot killed by me EOD bot is the new repair tool kills, it's a lot more challenging since you can hear it coming miles away.


co-op is okay. only 2 good missions though: the gunship support mission, and the night-time sniping mission. they missed MASSIVE opportunity with battlefield engine: back-seat jet supporting other player on the ground (like AC130 in MW2), co-op tank assault, littlebird escort other player on a bridge. it's clear co-op is same as single player, WAAAY outside of DICE's comfort zone, they tried to copy MW2, and only managed the boring shooting parts.

 

My skill level is -32, lol. My W/L ration is 1.5 though and K/D is 0.86. I have some terrible games now and then, but I also have some very good games .

 

I had a good laugh get slaughtered by everyone on ZiiP again last night. Getting killed as soon as you spawn is beginning to grate though, it happened four times in a row on Seine crossing. Was it just me or was the it getting a bit laggy at times when the server was full?

 

Yeah we were getting some good comms in! S'all about getting on voice chat!

I take it you mean when spawning on a flag point or your squad leader? If so, you can never truly consider these places completely safe. Just the nature of the beast as they say. That's why they let you see in the background the area you have selected, so you can choose to go in or not before spawning.

However, getting on Teamspeak or any kind of voice comms helps a lot. All of ZiiP use voice and it's just as crucial, if not more so, than good teamwork in game. We all are constantly passing info around on teamspeak as we play, and we stick to squads whenever possible.

 

Now that's a talent!

I found I had to up mine a little more, to 1.035. It crashed/hung on 1.025 after a while.
