Wow, I would not have expect that Gigabyte released a 'all show no go' motherboard. For all the extra functions doing nothing, you would be better of with the cheaper little brother if you are not so into overclocking.

So the AM3 battle is between Asus and MSI. Or is there a third competitor on the horizon?

Sounds like the board could be fixed so easily with a new BIOS...

Oh well, at least it looks good.

DFI have a DK-790FX AM3 board out, not sure how good it is though....

Also Foxconn are apparently releasing a Quantum Force AM3 board soon, which will most likely be a top performer.

    This really disappointed me.

Was thinking of buying this board. Funny how Gigabyte didn't even try to fix their energy "saving".
It's hard to believe they just threw it in as an option and never tested if it even works.

When will we see an AM3 (DD3) mATX board review?

ive been hoping to for a while, having bought the board pretty much upon release.... doesnt seem to be any point in wasting time to get a serious overclock until we see one.

the main reason i bought the board was that it was one of the few AM3 boards out, and i loved the 10 sata ports.

Such a shame. The layout and looks are perfect for what I need. Not being able to fit viper RAM though is a bit worrying as thats what I was looking at!

I really hope that some BIOS updates can bring it into line. Could care less about the DES stuff as you cant use it when OC'ing anyway.

Still, its nice to see MSI being a serious contender. It's getting a bit stale seeing Asus everywhere.

I'm waiting for the Crosshair boards.

Still where are the random GPU reviews? Like another HD4890?

As far as I can see their was 2 newer bios releases prior to this being publised i.e. F5 & F3K which is the very latest bios.

Pity the review wasnt done using the latest ones, the MSI board was even using their latest beta driver.

The review is nice, but I take it with a pinch of salt!
