I remember a few years ago when Origami was revealed, everyone was touting tablets to be the future of mobile PCs. I've heared nothing more about them since then, until now. Did anyone actually buy one? Do they exist outside CES and CeBit?

    Bring it on!

I really hope we get some new tablet pc's because there's definitely a place for them imo.

Smart phones are ok for occasional web browsing, but hampered due to the small size.

Something larger (up to around 12") with some real grunt would take web browsing, amongst many other applications, to the next level.

It'll do for home PC's what the Wii did for console gaming; making things more accessible.

    I can't wait!

    As for Apple Vs Google?

That's a no brainer as far as I'm concerned...

    ... Google Cheesecake.

I hate that kind of headline.

"Google announce tablet!" is an interesting headline. "Google to announce tablet?" is a headline that says "we have no idea what we're talking about but we're terrified of being scooped by someone".

The tabloid press does this all the time: "Planet earth to explode, says someone we don't trust much." Gah. Wait those "few days" an broadcast facts.

BTW I didn't think Google go to CES? They aren't announcing the NexusOne at CES are they?
