About Nostalgia: It's good to find something special like isnt?

About the pump concept, I like that one but if you could put 2 or 3 more layers, or you tried and didn't liked?

    Thanks, guys.:D
@Gunter - OK. I'm not sure what you are asking about the pump.
The top design I'm going to change to a 1/4" gap between louvers to match the rest of the case. I also need to front shape a bit. The problem I'm having is that the ugly side of the pump will be visible through the front panel. I'm working out a way to mount the fins to some black plastic on that side.

I was thinking about this two desings, in the first one you could go for 2 our more layers to fit your main idea.

But your black plastic idea could turn in a perfect way.

Great Designs! Interesting build, gotta hand it to ya, with the tools you are using and the work that is coming out of it, is pretty awesome. Makes me wonder about the colors I will use in my upcoming build when it comes to plexiglass. I jus wish I could learn all that CAD/Sketchup programming, lol

    Thanks!
@Gunter - Trust me. The top one will work out nice.:D

-I'm still a little woozy from gluing. I dropped the syringe in the can. By the time I got it out, I had inhaled way too much. I'm an idiot for not grabbing my mask.
-I cut the face out of 1/2" stuff.
    -BAM!
-Then the camera batteries died. I tapped out all the threads during that time. The 1/4" BSPP tap is much easier to use. No more custom fitting with a tapered tap for me.:D
    [IMG]
-I did some quick work with a round bit to open the intake/exhaust holes a bit. Later I cleaned up the intake with a dremel.
-Here I'm lining up the impeller exhaust for drilling. I go into more detail on this procedure in my guide.
-Tilted the table and did a test drill...etc.
-Lots of dremeling, sanding and polish happened. I glued a 1/8" top plate on just a while ago. The hose in the impeller well is an aquarium bubbler. I'm trying to purge the glue out of the hole as gently as I can. Using water made it craze like mad. Someone here has said that rapid cooling is a factor in crazing, so water and alcohol is out.
Oh, that's NOT purple marker you are seeing this time.:D

    Thanks again to my sponsors!

    Thanks!:D
@H4vok - Danger Den has been very good to me. They contacted Hardware Labs to get them on board too.
@perplekks - Good! It's hard to get funky colors over here. I'm hoping this turns out good. It would suck to make a contest prize no one wants.

There was no crazing this time around. I got the purging method right finally.

-Gloood the faceplate on. I still have a pinhole seam running from one of the ports along the purple top. I hope I don't have to add a drop of gel glue after getting the guts so pretty.:(
    [IMG]
-I cut out some squares to make fins with. This pic is important because of the pencil line. It's 90 degrees from the edge. Not only was the stuff I got from Eplastics undersize, It's crooked to.
-Whee! more cutting. This scene has to be boring the hell out of you kiddies by now. I need to add more bananaman. (even EEL won't touch those jokes.:hehe:)
-One of the fins is a little odd. That's because this is the only one that will be connected to the top.
    -Again? Yawn...
-All the fins finished. I tried to spell something, but I didn't have a T.
    -Here's where we get groovy.:D
The mill came with a 3/32" bit, and I finally had a reason to use it. I milled this groove .109" wide to fit the fin.
-Here's the full groove, and a good shot of the purple-ness to be. I had to remove the masking and the tiny bit of burr on the fin to get it to fit.
-Success! I can use this trick on the cpx pro housing now.
-I will confess I did screw up a little. The back groove is off by about 1/64" on one side. This is because I forgot to sand the faceplate flush with the top before I cut it. I didn't think the thickness of the tape would screw me up this badly, but it did.

Did I mention this was for the MNPCTech Design competition #3? Get in there already!!!

This update brought to you by my cool sponsors!!

Yea, 1/64" is screwed up badly.

But only by your standards... Awesome work mate! :thumb:

Being a healthy hetero male I doubt I'd touch anything that contains the words "man" and any mention of his "banana", whether in a literal or figurative sense. :D

Looks awesome, Cheaps. You can barely tell the deviation, TBH. Especially when it goes in the rig. I think it looks great.

    Neat-o!
I like the purple. But will we need to break out our sunglasses before this is over? I've lost them all over the course of this summer :hehe:

    Thanks guys.:D
@perplekks - It's enough to not fit without more cutting. That equals failure to me.
@EEL - I said 'bananaman', not 'man banana'!
@stonedsurd - There will be no purple in this rig. This top is an experiment/prize for the design competition.
@John - Oh, Shi-You may be on to something! Where's my foil hat?
