    Sweeeeeeeet.

What a great day. The 2009 British GP, a new series of Top Gear and an update on this blog... sweet. :D

Wasn't the result I was hoping for, But Seb winning was nice (especially as he is my #2 driver in the work F1 sweepstakes).

Anyhoo - After watching the GP, I decided to start fitting the bonnets - cutting everything by hand to ensure accuracy sounded such a good idea at the begining - I mean, it's only aluminium - how hard can it be? :)

Took me all afternoon just to do one side, and I was completely wiped out afterwards.

I had thought black, but I'm now thinking British Racing Green.

Either british racing green or black would be nice :thumb: especially if it's metallic

I thought you were going for white when I first saw the panels but then I realized thet weren't finished GOO ;) White is the new black for cars this year you know ^^

This is looking more and more impressive every time you post something new. My hat's off to you for this, it's truly the best car build log I have ever seen, and looks like it is going to be an absolutely stunning machine when it is done (Which doesn't seem that far off from where I'm sitting... what else have you got to do?)

+rep for a truly epic thread on an awesome car! :thumb:

You want more bolts? I've got more bolts!

How many of them are there? 39 on each side - so 78 in total... overkill yes, but it looks cool. Just imagine them all polished along with the hinge (as they're all stainless so they'll take a nice shine) against nice dark BRG paint.

I just wish Marlin would hurry up and send my bonnet catches - I don't think the masking tape does the car justice. :)

Thanks guys. I fitted the fuel filler cap over the weekend, so the tank is sealed properly. I'm toying with the idea of fitting the wheels back on, bunging some cusions in the drivers side so I don't slide backwards along the floor and taking a pootle round the block - just to make sure everythings working, of course... :worried: :hehe:

I also finished off painting the wingstays, the stay mounting plates, the A pillar mounting plates, the door spacers, some nut plates I made that will be used to mount the rear wings, and the headlight brackets I made earlier in the week.

    Nice. :D

How much did the rubber set you back? I'm guessing about £60/corner + VAT + fitting? Can't quite tell what wheel size you have though. :p
