    R&D cost probably outweighs returns. Let someone else develop and buy in. Could also be a sign of the start of a ssd price crash with the bottom falling out of the market or too much competition low end to get a decent return.

    Nand prices are bound to crash eventually, Intel is just cashing in on it while they can still get money for it, besides, Intel holds a load of patents still, so even if they don't manufacture Nand anymore they will still get money in the future, just with less risks.

    The 20nm plant they kept makes the new stuff before any other plant world wide

    The 2 they got rid of where doing older stuff
