Does it count if I didn't pay for it myself?

Just picked up my new work laptop, 15" Zbook g6, i7-9850H, 32gb ram (and two free slots), 512 m.2 with a second slot as well as a spinning rust slot.

Pretty sure it cost more than all my previous employers laptops and desktops put together..

Also there's a usb ssd somewhere in the post. Going to see if I can swing a VMware workstation license and a thunderbolt dock 3 with the funky two in one cable if it is compatible..

That counts, you pay by showing up to work. What motivated work to get you one of the 'proper' HP laptops?! I'm jealous.

All that power and I'm surprised they didn't shoehorn a 4K panel into it. Or at least a 2K panel. Just FHD.

I did. I forgot it had a gpu. Not sure it'll see all that much use, but there we are.

I'm as uncertain as you - I was told all of us in this role get zbooks, but what I've seen of the job thus far hasn't cleared up why.

Possibly because I opted for the pauper 15" and not the 17" on the basis that I didn't want to get a new bag - but I also didnt look closely at the spec beyond screen size as I'm a little new to this "here, have expensive stuff in your eighth or ninth day" culture. There might have been a mo-betterer screen version somewhere.

naw that's for laying the plastic, it does screw directly into the heater though.

It's the nozzle the melty plastic string comes out of.

Holy cr*p, your sarcastic meter went to 11, didn't it...? F*** me...!
I Google'd it & the items' OWN SITE reads like a foreign language. I have no f***in' clue how a 3D printer works & no reason to know how/why; it looks like a laser emitter, to me not a printer head.

Ramp yer tolerance meter up a few notches or keep yer snide remarks to yerself, yeah...?

    EDIT
To those who gave diplomatic replies; thank you.

Ah, I think you've misunderstood @ElThomsono 's post, mate. It read to me that he was making a joke at his own expense, and not in any way at yours.

It wouldn't be the first time I've been told to 'use a search engine' rather than interact with a person, on a forum.

    Hot sauces, quite a few.

And the first chili seeds for next year. Carolina Reaper, here I come! And probably suffer horribly.

At its simplest, a 3d printer is a robot arm with a hot glue gun.

Thank you - I have at least seen one working, but that's as far as it's ever likely to get.
