Woot! an update :D not much just a couple things needed fixing.

First is the cable that connect the LED strips.... i had just passed it across the floor of the case....

I decided to drill holes pass it through the base and then run a clip on type dummy panel.

It starts with a strip of matching white plex, this is cut to fit between 2 of the blades.

Then over to the router for some sexy channel work....

Then over to the perspex bender for some sexy bendy work!

the finished panel is bent at both ends this will give it a little spring and allow it to clip into place.

To make life easier a small grove is added to the back just enuf to get your finger into to lift.

The small keyway clip latches are routed and cut to size before being glued into place

The holes can now be drilled into the base for the cable/s to pass thru

As you can see, we cant have this ugly connection showing.

The latches are glued in.... ive made the whole unit longer as im sure there will be more cables to pass thru ;) as will a matching cover be added to the opposite side for the fans.

The panel then just hooks and clips into place

and shouldn't look too out of place.

Next was a lighting annoyance ....
There was a "no light" dull section when the strip runs from the side vents to the front fan housing.

I decided to add a little aero style wing to the section, I'm sure there's a proper name for these!

Back over to the bender :)

The new section will also add a spoiler feature and finish off the front of the psu housing nicely.

Fits nice and snug.... i'll add some horizontal grills to it later.

Then over to the router to add some channels for the RGB strips

    A quick test :thumb:

Ive added a white panel over the top so the light bleeds out around the edges rather then the whole thing lights up.

I may still change the shape of these abit...... maybe... but at least for now it adds some colour to that spot.

And of course the mandatory disco vid

    :naughty:

    Smallish update again.

Just added the second dual strips... i didn't want to add any more Corsair hubs... The idea is to have just the one hub running 2 channels , one for the fans and one for the LED strips.
That way just let Corsair iCue running the Link setting in the software to sync both channels or have them run separate for more effects.

So i decided to see if i could just split the addressable signal along 2 channels... and with a simple Y spliter it works!

I can get 2 rows of 2 x strips to run in sequence.

    1 x Dodgy DIY "Y" spliter

Connects to the digital output from the Corsair Hub (channel 2)

Then to 2 rows of strips

And presto! both sides now light in sync.

It's getting pretty disco now! I can run the fans (vid to come soon) as a solid colour and have the strips goin nuts! or vice versa.

I might play with adding strips to the top as well , as suggested by Dr.Coin :thumb:

aaaaaaand of course you need your RGB fix!

One of my guilty pleasures. God I loved that song when I was a kid.

Back when I had my car I used to blast that on a huge system and "chair dance" whilst driving down the street.

Still playing with ideas ! Have a look, tell me what you think pls guys...... this is just a small test panel but what would you think about this as a thin line around the whole inside.

I'd have to re do the whole internals but that's fine ,, all the left over parts can go into the next case.

I like it  would tone the whole look down alot.

Wow, love the way the light seems to flow over that triangle at the bottom in the previous vids. The last ones whilst cool seem too toned down and I want full disco.....
    Booo to toning down.

Would it be possible to isolate parts like that, while having the rest go full glow separately? (Whip out the aluminum foil. :D )

I love it! Sorry for the late reply but I think something's going on with my notifications. Lately I get notified rarely and after many comments have already been made.

Cheers guys ty all vm :thumb:

Sorry it's been a while since an update, i have been modding!!!! just indulging my self and trying new stuff :)

STILL toying with different ideas and designs..... i had some spare time to play today and thought i'd knock up another MB/PSU cover. the 3rd one now? actually it's about the 5th...

I't's more an excuse to play with the bender and some new lighting ideas....

As always.... it starts with another sheet of white plex .

    Several bends later!

A pretty snug fit.... but still needs some modding.

    Back to the bender

Then after a run thru on the router and some sneaky hand sanding a pretty flush fit.

Add a stip of frosted plex to the instep and some RGB disco goodness and presto !

There's still a lotta work to go on this one, but i like the subtle rgb along the bottom and i'll work on adding second rgb feature.

The vids show it off a lot better.

and ive added a scrapped idea... i had thought about trying to add some rgb mercy wing style side inserts much like fractal nano mod i did a while back.

All that's left would be swapping out a strip of LEDs with laser diodes.

I did get some moddin done this arvo :thumb:

Today's effort started with some sexy clear plex , I love working with chuncks of this stuff....

These will be the new mother board stands.. ive chosen pretty chunky plex, that way i can hollow the guts and still keep some strength.

Next is to bevel drill and tap

Next is to hack up that sexy new cover..... pretty nervous times. this has to fit perfect.

Sit the brackets in and mount the engine....err hardware.

    The PSU slides in nice

Im still deciding if i will just hard glue the mounts to the floor of the case or drill tap and screw...

And drop in the cover. The whole setup is easier this way.... it now allows me to remove to the cover to play with wires add more rgb etc..... where as before i had to remove all the hardware just to get under the hood!

being a rev head i really like the "raw" look of the cooler and board. i'll prolly work more with that look now, add some internal blades and a small shield for the gap between the board and hood.
