I like it how you can draw air in from the front, or the back, great for crossfire. What I want to know is why ATI/nVidia think they can get away with ginormous cards with insane power consumptions.
I for one will NOT be getting one of these. Especially considering the TCO will be massive. Nope, not for me.

That explains why it's 7-49% faster....its twice the frikin size :eeek:

Are they pulling a fast one like Nvidia did with the 7950? - The fastest
single GPU on the market....but if you buy two and you've got Quad's.....Perhaps Ati have 10 chips on that board

I'm sure this picture was one of the earliest test samples, not so long ago I read about one of the biggest benefits of the R600 being it's single slot design. I don't believe for one minute ATi would unleash a monster like that to the public, I expect something much more refined.

I read somewhere else that they would unveil this at Cebit :naughty:

Seriously that plastic cover on the heatpipes looks like it was made in the 1970s. And the backplate looks suspiciously like the current generation ATI cards. My betting is we will all be pleasantly surprised by what ATI come up with. Do I call them ATI or AMD?

Also notice how the identification has been spray-painted out in MSPaint? We all know it's a leet program, but obviously it's just covering up the truth that this really isn't the R600.

i think i could be an Ati prototype card, but the core may not be an R600, may be pics of there X1950XT DDR4 master card back when it was created.

I'm skeptical but it could very well be their first test of the card.

Hopefully with AMDs manufacturing capability we'll be able to buy one of these babies as soon as it hits the shelves.

Beastly. On the other hand, it gives a good motive to make a kickass ghetto case mod. saw up a couple cases and put them together to make a monster case :dremel: :hip:

Remember those pic's are oem not RETAIL.
I've seen this on every forum I've read and everyones like wow look how big it is, yet you me or the average Jo wont get are hands on that card as it the oem version which has some sort of proprietary fitting on the back to secure/stabilise it and ati just made use of the space available, we'll get the same but its gonna be a lot smaller than those pictures

It's still going to be a hefty 9 and a half inches long. It sounds like its going to be a mean piece of hardware though, I just wish there was some other way of cutting down the cost other than using massive pcb's.

9.5 inches is the same size as the Nvidia 8800 GTX if I'm not mistaken??

If that's the case it should be no big deal.....Provided you have a CM Stacker 830 or Silverstone TJ08/09 :D
