    I'm curious to see how this affects yields. It sounds cool in theory, but in practice things may be much different.

    Can't say I'd ever thought about having to shrink the interconnects....

    I wonder how this factors in with intels plan to get to sub 10nm in 2015...

    Might actually put them right on schedule if they can somehow obtain the knowledge of the process.

    It's all getting close to the "weird sh!t" scale.

    I read a Sciam article years ago about a group trying to make very small holes in some material. The holes were a few nanometers wide and spaced from a few nm to a few tens of nm. When they got too close, the holes wouldn't stay put and slowly moved together and merged into one hole. Not what we want in our CPUs.

    Maybe they'll go to carbon nanotubes. About 1 nanometer wide with very useful properties.

    I'd expect an industry leader to already possess this technology, otherwise they wouldn't be coming out with their planned node schedule in the first place.
