Without any word of a lie, if all of the rep I've had removed (both with and without my consent), I'd be in excess of 100 million points at this stage.

    Ridiculous

Two years ago the highest score on the forums was about 3k.

    Nice one George!

Today I am using my Poker for work, we will see how an entire day of programming on a 60% board goes, luckily I am a left side modifier man so I can keep the right arrow cluster locked on. I prefer the lightness of reds for typing so not sure if my poor wittle fingers are going to get tired on blacks.

my new smd rework station arrived today - but I left my solder paste at work, so to test it I went about melting holes in a plastic bottle. it works.

Awesome :D God I wouldn't know where to start with SMDs - that's why I've not chosen the DIY GH60 option :) Switches, LEDs etc I can do no problem mind

SMD is really really really really easy, you just put the paste on the pads, put the smd on the paste, heat it up, POW. caps/diodes/resistors are easy, controllers and big chips are a bit harder.

    Hello everyone!

GeorgeK gave me some great advice in a thread I made about a week ago asking about mechanical keyboards. I ended up going with a Ducky Zero DK2108 as it was a board with a numpad and ISO layout under £100.

This is my first mechanical keyboard but I have to say I am already loving the smooth action and tactile responsiveness of my Cherry MX Reds. I was umming and arring between reds and browns but after listening to people saying the grind over the bump gets fatiguing over time (and considering the amount of gaming I do) I ended up going with the reds.

It comes with some nice little pink WASD keys too! Although these are just printed keys (all the rest are laser so I'm not sure why these ones aren't.

Anyway, without further rambling, here is a pic! I also did an unboxing video that will be going up shortly which I will post here separately.

Now to find me some sexy key caps!

Very nice! Take a look over at geekhack for keycaps - lots of groupbuys have now finished but there are always more starting!

    Enjoy the board!

I think if a group buy for one of those grab bags happens again I'll have to go in for it!

Just plugged in a corsair K70 as I wanted to see what all the fuss was all about re mechanical keyboards. Well, I'm converted! and yes I realise that this isn't quite up to your custom boards but I can see where this particular fad ends as I'm already thinking about custom keycaps. Already, gah!!

That pink is glorious C4FF! Nearly enough to convince me to buy one of my own haha. If only UK stores did the ANSI version!

My day of 60% programming went OK, the only point I was a little stumped was when debugging and needing to use the F row keys to step through/over/into code. Having to hold down FN while tapping through was a little bit annoying, but other than that it was ok. I even got used to fn + whatever to get home/end/pg up and down too.
