Dude! Wow, I don't think I'd be calling this a "knock-off" of anything. It stands just fine on its own right. I don't normally go for acrylic cases, but you sure pulled this one off. It's nice to see something that clean and in blue. and keep on :dremel:

Thanks. It may not be a knock-off, but I sure took more than a few ideas from the ORAC. Still have a way to go, but I happy with my progress so far. Sorry again about the pictures, I guess I am better at building them than using them.

I wouldn't call it a knockoff either. (I would if you had chosen green and silver) It looks really good.

Don't forget to put a computer into it.

    Thanks.
    It will be AMD A64@3200Mhz
    SATA Harddrives RAID 0
    1000MB of memory
    Nvidia FX5900 Ultra
    Lynx 24bit Sound Card

That's whats in the box I am using now. Still need to spend more time/money before making the "swap" (I have about $650us in that case).

Looks pretty good man! It's totally different from the Orac project by G-gnome, but I can see it's inspired by that though.

I may change the floppy drive black-face to 5" to give a more even look to face. Also what about the clear acrylic fan cover, think blue would be beter?

You know, that is what is cool about a custom case, I will get the hack-saw out and make a blue fan cover. I can always switch back and forth when I get sick of looking at the thing. The reason I when for clear acrylic was my hero's ORAC box.

lol yer custom cases are very cool, i love having them with bits that you can constantly change around if and when you feel like it, i am designing a huge mod for 2 computers in my room, but 1 of them wil be controlling everything from my lighting in ma room, too the opperation of my TV. I realy need 2 start to design the cases, and yours is all inspiring wiht it being a custom case, i realy need some £££ though :D

I agree with the other peeps, very nice mod. More a tribute to Orac than a knock off. :)

Not from scratch, I started with a C3 clear case, they make great stuff, and made in the USA, which was a shock when I saw the casting. I though America only made trouble.

    Brilliant work!

The only thing I can see straight away that looks like a ripoff is the front fan grill... If you changed that to another design it wouldn't be anything like orac.

Honestly, I would never have started this project without reading about ORAC. I will make-up a Blue front fan cover and see what it looks like, Pictures to come. PS I looked high and low for thin perforated stainless to use for a intake fan filter, but could only find a 4'x4' sheet for big money. I think a sheet of perforated stainless under the clear grill would look great instead of wire-mesh covering the 120mm fan. Any help?????
