No, don't obfuscate the issue. As I said before, I'm sure there are many reasonable gamers who have genuine concerns. However if they do not want to be associated with crazies who claim to speak for their movement, they have to distance themselves from those crazies.

So instead of a video that says: "We are not the misogynist violent crazies you accuse us of being", how about a nice video that says: "Misogynist crazies who advocate violence as a means to further their cause do not speak for us."? There's a difference.

Actually that's exactly what it means. :p I didn't bring the subject up in this thread, I'm merely replying. But I'm all for taking it to another thread.

As stated, 'Gamergate' is just a hashtag used for discussing the issue; Gamers are the group it concerns- that includes men and women- oh snap!

Where as a woman is defined by...[insert something witty & amusing here]

The hell I did, I was referring to that she-beast Sarkeesian previously; hence, why I said apparently when you mentioned the other woman who has APPARENTLY ( since I didn't know & only have your say-so to go on ) not actually slept with a journalist to further her game development ( or whatever ) career. But Sarkeesian did sleep with a journo ( fact, as far as I'm aware ), so in the end everything worked out okay

Actually it is a huge difference. You just don't want to see it.

Well, the other woman's ex has publicly withdrawn his allegations, so you don't have to just take little old me's word for it. As for Sarkeesian (she-beast? Really?), I don't see how her alleged sex life has anything to do with the concerns that gamers have about press integrity. But you know, keep harping on about it, because it makes you sound so much more rational and not at all misogynist. :p

Anyhow, let's take this to another thread.

Its a known fact, that all major supermarkets have teams of people, behind the scenes at supermarkets with tinsel in hand waiting for November 1st 00:01 (am) to tear down the Halloween decorations and get that tinsel up as fast as possible.

By known fact, I meant: I completely made that up

In India we really screw our energy consumption. The first lights go up around mid-October for the festival of Diwali. They're usually up ten days before and ten days after Diwali, but by the time their relevance to Diwali is over, it's only a month and a half to christmas, so the damned things stay up and lit all over the city until early january the next year (because New Year).

    Drives me nuts.

This is a parallel I've been drawing quite a lot recently. It's actually opened my mind about some of the issues feminism (and indeed other movements) faces on a regular basis.

In Australia where Halloween isn't really a thing, we've had the Christmas decorations on the shelf for ages here. So depressing. :sigh:

That's what it's going to be like. It was pushing 30 degrees here where I live a couple of weeks ago and high humidity too. Summer is going to suck this year.
