    Thanks for the feedback!

Yumadil: even if this CCFL alone wont provide enough light there will be 2-3 more cathodes hidden around in different areas of the case. and in addition to that some LEDs too. the lighting will be pretty soft even though 4 CCFLs in a case does sounds like alot.

Mankz_91: the case is at my work right now, ill check the dimension tomorrow and edit this post

sorry for no updates lately, ive been kinda stuck. i bought the plexi i needed a few days ago and made most of the progress today. all the plexi has been cut in size for the side panels, top and bottom of the case. i also got the fanbus i ordered from ebay so i modded it abit aswell. and now to the progress...

i couldnt fit the plexi at the top of the case cause of the undercut it had, so i dremeled out a piece to slide the plexi in

    before
    [IMG]

    and after
    [IMG]

my zalman controller, used but good as new :D
    [IMG]

plexi for the top, drilled and cut in size
    [IMG]

got some more sanding to do on that USB slot, gonna be ok
    [IMG]

i decided to make a new panel for the fanbus, didnt like all those white writings

the original panel next to a piece of plexi used to make a new one
    [IMG]

i used double sided tape to attach the original panel to the new one and drilled the holes through the original piece

    the new panel in place
    [IMG]

    another angle
    [IMG]

i decided to make an engraving at the bottom of the case, the piece i used will be glued from underneath and lit with 2 cathodes

i printed the writing and taped it to the plexi piece
    [IMG]

and the finished piece. this is my first engraving experience so excuse me if its not very good

thanks everyone :D , glad you like the color, it took me more than 2 hours to choose it from about 50 shades of blue. its a dark blue pearl and it looks MUCH better in real

    and now for today's update.
i finished the front aluminium frame i started yesturday, here are the progress pics:

lol, you chose it out of only 50 shades of blue? :D I can mix about a thousand shades per primary and secondary (orange, purple, etc.) color... ;)

anyways, you did well chosing this one, I like it. Too bad it's a little dusty in the room you paint your stuff :( well, you'd should sand it anyway

    thanks guys

    heres todays update.
i painted the case top and since this time i used our painting room with air suction and temperature / moisture control it came out flawless. i also drilled the holes for the front bezel alu plate and wetsanded the front panel with 1500 grid paper as a preparation for the polishing. here are the pics for today:

the painted parts, front bezel with the alu place bolted in place and the top of the case
    [IMG]

closeup on the bolts i used to attach the alu plate, those are the bolts im using for all panels
    [IMG]

another shot of the painted top
    [IMG]

inserted the plexi, looks awesome :D
    [IMG]

the polished blowhole. notice that theres a space between the plexi and the top panel itself, dont worry the bolts aren't screwed in yet
    [IMG]

another shot of the front bezel
    [IMG]

after the wetsanding with 1500 grid paper

tomorrow ill begin with the polishing and ill also polish the alu plate.
    please comment :hip:

AMAZING WORK! I love it :thumb:
The design is very original, craftsmanship is top-notch, and the functionality looks great. Three things that are suprisingly hard to combine, but you have pulled it off nicely. I looked at the first few pictures of the case and I was pretty worried, but you have really turned something Fugly into a work of art. Keep it up!!! :dremel:
