I heard somewhere once that when bending tubes or pipes, fill them with sand to help keep shape and not kink... just an idea!

    :cooldude: :cooldude: UPDATE :cooldude: :cooldude:

So after a few hours of constant engraving the dremel has left my arm feeling like spagetti but when i firered up those red leds and saw the result the pain seemed to go away :hip:

I still have some edges to finish of and some fiting of the bits that are done. I will also add some shading to both sides later on to bring out the details a bit more but it will have to wait until i regain the use of my arm.

Actually, I couldn't find the holesaw anywhere on harald-nyborg.dk. :( Just non-adjustable ones and different sets. :( Can you give me a direct link? (Not that it really matters as I found a norwegian site that sells the same holesaw, but just to make sure I haven't overlooked anything ;) ).

Wow, incredible. You are obviusly very good at working with plexi (at least....now you have some experience :D. That must have taken a lot of sanding to complete.

I assume you are gonna blowtorch the edges to get them clear?

Sorry for allt eh Q's I am trying to do somthing liek it on my own and have no idea what to use for cutting out stuff like the psu hole. :sigh:

    Thanks,

ok ...dremel master :jawdrop: :dremel: :jawdrop:

the most incredible part is that you did it by hand, and the straight lines are actually straight...thats incredible!

    Awsome

How thick are the plexi? 4-5mm?
Are the clearance between the sides of the case and the fastening holes to the IDE units large enough to fit the screws by hand?
What do you use to join the sides of the case? gluegun or epoxy?

Judging by the closeup of the blowhole, I'd say that's 10mm plexi.

I used a jigsaw with a fine teeth metal cutting blade to cut the straight lines. As for the psu hole that was made by first cutting a hole with the holesaw and then the jigsaw. I drilled alot of holes with a 10mm drill to get startingpoints for the jigsaw. The really tough bit is then to get the final shape and thats made with files and sandpaper.

The plexi is 8mm thick. The whole case will be put together with the original plexicubes from my old Sunbeamcase no glue of any kind will be used it will be held together with brass screws. If i had glued it together i would not be able to mount anything in the case. but how i put it together will soon be revealed.

I will try to get an update done this weekend so stay tuned :)
