Hi. I wanted to give my father in law a special present for his birthday. And came up with a Cigar Box Guitar. Because he loves guitars and owns a music school. Wait a second for the images to load !!! So the idea that i came up with is this: On E-bay i found this cigar box. (29 x 35 x 6 CM) The inside. So the design began with the measurements of the box. and yes he is a F.C. Hansa Fan (Germen football team) I went to the local lumberyard and got a piece of Jatoba board. And began to transfer the layout for the neck. UPDATE The neck rough cut And with the box Started routing the head to get it angeled. Clued a piece of board to the back. so i could route the back to. The finished head. Routed the neck to make it round. Closeups Ive cut the mounting hole in the box for a test fit. Clued two pieces of Oak together for the fret Bord. Cutting the F-Notes in the case. Fixing some mistakes the router made. its on the back side and doesn't mater because it will be painted Drilled and test fitted the Jack connector. First coat of paint with the neck covered in tape.
