I added a light coat of primer to the face to bring out the all the areas I still need to touch up with Bondo.
Great! I love the badge in front idea. For the side panel, i wont make the star there, maybe just increase the size of the window in the current shape it is in at the moment.
BTW, I don't plan on using the star badge I posted. It looks too Old West-ish. Problem is that all badges I've looked at have a specific city/county/state name on them. I wish I could find something modern that only says POLICE
Hey, nice idea with this mod... haven't seen a whole lot of cases following this theme (hell, any of them actually!) so this should be a nice mod. I like the interactive part, I'd vote more but I don't have oodles of time to browse the forums. I only came upon this one by chance. Great idea using the expanding foam, I was working on an auto-themed mod for a long time (still am, kinda, but I haven't been able to get to it for over a year... stuck in my old house and I have nowhere to work on it) and I couldn't figure out what to use for a grill. Great idea there! This looks like it could be a kick-@$$ mod, keep us posted! And thanks for the foam idea!
After the holes were fixed I re-primed it. And the inside After 2 coats of primer I began the 1st coat of black. I usually do 4 coats of color and at least 3 coats of clear after that.
Alright, I finished all color coats on the front The 3rd and last color coat on the top. And the 2nd coat on the right side. Question: When I'm all done with the black..... 1. do I clear coat a few times, add the white stripe and clear coat again? or 2. Finish black, add white then clear coat all?
the reflection allready locks like a clearcoat so i thinl it s enough to add the white and then the clearcoat
Why dont you just make a police car from scratch? That would have been very cool i think. It can be quite difficult thou, and you have already started so..
Because this is interactive modding, he started with a choice between two cases, the police theme came later on.
What about Hysol or Epoxy ? Im using Hysol to glue the plexi to the side panel and stuff, works very well!
But will epoxy hold Nickel plated cuffs to a painted bondo surface? ------------------------------------------------------------------ So, I attached the panel to measure where I'm putting the window/stripe. And here's where it gonna go. And now I've moved on to painting the stripe on the top and right side.
Uh, good idea I've decided to go with Rivets and Epoxy. I will drill the bottom-side of the cuffs at the point where the two pieces come together (1). And I will drill a tiny hole in this area where there is already a pin (2). All holes will be under the cuffs and will be attached from the inside so that it won't be seen from the front. Here's kinda what it'll look like And here you can see the stripe drying
