I like the window, looks like some thing that I would do with my side panels. The question is how are you going to attach the plexiglass with such small frames? My project requires much removal of the side rails of the case to make it work... :hehe:

Look forward to more. You keep on giving me ideas for my drive cage... :D

heh yeah I didnt think about that. Ive had my fair share of bad experiences with thin sides and the plexi hitting the case. Its quite a pain.

    Hmm, I smell some misunderstanding.
Im not going to attach the acrylic on the inside, but on the outside.
The whole point is that with no lights on this case will look dead. Really dead.
Thats why im tinting the windows green, and not just buying green plexi (and because I didn't get hold of any ;)

But, when you turn on the lights, heaven will reveal it self before you. Atleast thats the thought, and I think you will like it.

Im still waiting for feedback from Deviate, about the top door, but while we wait I have some goodies.
I mentioned my homemade fanbus. It ain't much, since im not much of an electrician. In fact, I fried my old PSU while doing this. Kids, that's what happen when you don't isolate the wires especially well.

The fanbus I made is real simple. It was just something I did really quick (though It did take some time to get the schematics right.), so I didn't bother to make a PCB. In other words. It's messy!

There are 6 dual switches, 4 for my fans, and 2 for the lighting.
I can switch from 7-12, and thats enough for me. To make it I took a bay cover, drilled holes, did the electric stuff and fastened it to the cover.
For protection I made a small acrylic box, which I sanded.

Before I put the cover on I made sure that everything worked as it should. When the cover is on, I'm not taking it off.

The top leds are red, and the bottom leds are yellow.(Bad camera) They don't match too well with the theme, but that was what I had around. And when the acrylic cover that will be infront of the switches and leds is done, I think it will be a good contrast

Finished. Or almost.. Finished for now would be more correct. Think I will be adding jacks so I may get the wires out more easily. Right now everything is soldered.

So thats the fan bus. Just for some fun im going to show you my mascot. Its inspired by a guy called Papirpose at forum.overklokking.no.. One day he showed up with a mascot with leds in his eyes, and I just knew that I had to make on myself.

I give you Fluffy. Its a small dog I bought at a toystore named Edwis.
I opened him up, riped out his eyes, put in blue ultrabright leds, and used a USB cable as a powersource. Perfect mascot. You might imagine what people think when I bring him along on LAN's.. Funny funny :hehe:

    Good work!

When you'r bored, and have nothing to do, and just a bit too much money at the time, you'll end up with this.
Well, atleast you didn't laugh at me :D

Still no answer from Deviate, so i'll just keep on updating, and edit if necessary.

    Till next time..

Moving forward to the top door. After alot of drawing and papers wasted I
finally gave up. I had absolutely no ideas, and the ones I did get, were either crap, or done by others before me.
So finally I gave in and decided to use Deviate's design. I tried to modify it so it wouldn't look too alike, but except a piece I cut away it looks almost alike.

I've asked Deviate if it is okay that I post these pictures, but he hasn't replied.
So Deviate, if you read this, and don't want it here, give me a hint, and it's gone!

(Design by Deviate. I'm assuming that you already have looked at it,
but if you haven't, take a look)

    The top:

So, it was time to put my dremmeling skills to test.
Actually, when I started I was quite sure that this would be piece of cake, but I was wrong. Soooo wrong.

After a hour of dremmeling, it looked like this.

After another two hours, I was over half way there,
but the hard parts were next up. At this stage I had to call it a day,
since I used up all of my cutting wheels.

The next day I finished the top. It's funny how much easier it got after i buyed some diamond wheels,
but the inner curves were really tricky, especially with my lack of dremmeling experience.

Bring forward the o' mighty sanding pad.
I tore up alot of sanding papers because of the sharp edges.

After a lot of hours with the sanding pad, and a really stiff arm,
it was finally time for some varnish. Here it is after 2 layers of clear varnish. Only 6 to go :waah:

One day a m8 of mine came over to check out the progress. After he had poked me to death, he came up with a suggestion:
"What if you add some metal to the front?"
I thought about it, and so this sketch was made:

    The new front:

What may seem as silver is supposed to illustrate metal.
At this point I weren't sure if I were to use steel or aluminium,
so I had to check out the contrast with the other steel parts.

Let me give you an advice. Don't! Unless you don't want to sleep at nights that is. :D
A m8 of mine that has his computer in his bedroom made one 2 weeks ago with red eyes. He's the type who has his computer on 24/7, but not anymore. The sight of that teddybear with red eyes freaked him out and he can't sleep when it's on. Just so you know

Wow. Those cutouts look really nice. Very stylish indeed! I think putting the plexiglass on the outside of the case will be an interesting twist to the standard case window. There may be others around, but this is the first I've seen.

The color scheme is also very cool. Green/Black has always been one of my favorites, especially neon green! And I agree with ocedamd@3000+, kinda reminds me of Type O-negative, though I've haven't heard them in many many years.

Really nice work, keep it up :thumb:
