Naah, it's just a bit dusty. :D It's been lying on a shelf a long time...

It's not exceptionally heavy, strangely enough. You can still comfortably lift it by the ringpull handles without the panel flexing. Aluminium has its advantages... and there is only about a kilo (two pounds) of PF-5080 in there.

Since I topped it up (there was just not enough in there. Armari/InertX have some problems finding a new supplier while their original supplier is refitting their factory for a few months, but luckily Armari found me another spare bottle somewhere in their warehouse) flow rate has gone from 1.6 l/m to 1.7 l/m and temps have gone down a degree to 40-42C. Nice. :cooldude:

the white leds look very good. its kind of a very "cool" lighting. try 1 or 2 blue leds (100mcd) to adjust the colour temp.

I got mine from Dabs UK.

That's what I'm thinking. I'm still experimenting, and also deciding on the Power and HDD LED colours.

Cheers Nexxo. It was a MSI K7D Master-L correct?

If so, Dabs UK is all out! :(

Sorry --things have moved on a bit since then. ;) Currently Metaversa is running dual Opteron 250s on an MSI K8T Master 2Far. :D

K7D Master-L's are not made anymore. You can occasionally still pick one up second-hand on the 2CPU.com forums in the For Sale section.

Thanks for the compliments, guys! :dremel:

I know this is just pointless pimping really... :D but I'm sorta bothered that my recent pics have been a bit of a rush-job and do not really do the thing justice. So here is a few decent ones of the current state of play:

    I've been experimenting with lighting:

    Subtle white LEDs, I think...

    Here a (poor) evening shot:

I'll do a better one of the above soon. But first: back to modding! :dremel:

    Looks great!

you know, it looks like my case right now...

or should it be my case looks like yours?

At any rate, I ended up having to use your radiator placement because of fit issues with better PSUs. But, I didn't pull your idea totally, mine still has a floppy cage, and the panel itself is markedly different...

Now to put it back in the fire and finish bending...

    no, I'm not kidding.

A rush-job, can 3 years worth of a project be a rush-job? :hip: :D I really am looking forward to seeing work on the external asthetiks of the case, it really will be the icing on the cake. Any hints as to what you're up to? :D

I like the "toned down" white lighting". Every one and their friend has over done the green and bloo bright as sun lighting.... *looks at his case* yeah me too stupid uv is too tempting sometimes. I think my project is going to end up taking about as long as yours... not for quality reasons but because of no freaking time to work on mine.

Your build is one that opend this forum to me... The mix of thick and normal tubing are exelent, and combinds the name Heavy angel :thumb:

You have probably allready answer this, but have you only put a diod (white) that lights down over the components? It looks brillinant, and when you cant see where the light really is coming from just makes it better.

And making rams around the fans have given some ideas I whanna follow.

Really well done! and done for a long time :naughty:

The lighting is achieved through a single LazerLed array (the three-LED one). I am modding it so that the wire is invisible from outside the case, mounting it flush with the internal side wall.

The thick tubing is basically because centrifugal pumps really don't like being restricted at the inlet. Doing so causes noise, wear and possibly cavitation/foaming --apart from the reduction in performance.
