Waste of money Sega. I rather see Rez HD on Steam, that was immersive game.

First the movie industry started rolling out more 'remakes' than new films and now we have the same with the games industry as they re-release a multitude of old games with a graphical update that is often quite poor when compared to genuinely new titles.

I remember as recently as 10-15 years ago that I was eager for the new releases almost each week, or at least several titles each month. Now, there are barely a handful of titles that even pique my interest in a full year.

Regards the value of remakes/remasters, I am currently playing Uncharted 1 Remastered on PS4 for the first time. Then I will be playing 2 and 3 Remastered, before finally getting a go on Uncharted 4. So on this occasion it works out brilliantly for me. And maybe future games that I never played and get remastered will work out well for me.

The problem I find with revisiting old games that I did play previously is that the memory of them is always brighter, more colourful, the gameplay was better, the graphics were better, the control systems were great, and the fun level for games deserving a revisit was always up there with the greats. The reality 10 to 30 years later .............. is almost always a very brief journey through one or two levels, and slightly nauseating, followed by "wow the memory of the game is better than the reality!".

Shenmue was a great game way before its time. I think in this case it'll be good for some of the new crowd to experience an epic tale, rather than the old crowd getting a polished reboot.
