i cant see who that kind of book is aimed at, its not in depth enough for real gamers and non gamers arent going to be rushing to buy a videogame book.

"Think of this as the ideal gift for your girlfriend/parents/siblings who know nothing of your gaming obsession and are starting to find you a bit bizarre"

So... my girlfriend is starting to find my gaming obsession a bit "bizarre" and instead of placating her by say, buying her some Clarins or some chocs she opens her crimbo present and low and behold, a big ass book on games... Call me stupid if you like but that doesn't sound like the best way to win anyone over!

if you want to win her over just make her play with your wii. (dirty, dirty, DIRTY!!!!)

as for this book.... it would be far more useful if it was about retro games and how games first appeared and how they evolved.

Really, Gordy? Congrats! May he grow up to completely whoop you in every game out there ;)

Anyways, looks like it could be an interesting read for some, though I rather doubt I could get too into it - I'd rather be playing the games than reading about them.

I think this book is aimed at people with man-boobs and greasy pale skin. And others whom prefer baggies of std's whilst reading a 20 year history of pixelated fasination.

Edge FILE No1 is out now, it covers the first 12 issues of Edge (duh!) and is a faily awesome read, though I was hoping for more commentry as reading 8 pages about how Rise of the Robots is going to be The Greatest Game Ever, when we all know how THAT panned out, is a little much...

Anyways, my woman loves her games already, I might try and get her to enter the Guitar Hero comp as she busted the first on expert in under six hours, and got bored with GH2 as expert "is just too easy"...

"are starting to find you a bit bizarre." starting to man they have been saying I was bizzare, strange, found under a rock, dropped by an ugly alien from outer space for years. theres no starting to about it.
