I saw a guy as well, although that oen was done in black and grey...not in full colour... Had the idea for a while now...
When it comes to pulling it off, with tattoos there are two ways: wear it or hide it. There's no middle way.

When I got my belly piercing, my best mate (whom I know since forever) said: Dude... that's pretty porno... only you... buuut... noone is porno enough to tattoo "shake before use" on their stomach... so I did it (albeit with pinup girls adorning it)... and I run around in net shirt, do glam rock photo shoots like that, etc quite regularly...
Most people look at it, shake their head.
Others (that know me) go "wow... only you could wear that"...
in that light, I reckon i can pull the lipstick marks off... :)

Is your friend also doing the tattooing or just the design? If it's the latter you might be better off going to a reputable tattooist and getting them to do it all as they know what translates from paper to skin better than most so less compromises have to be made. I know people who have gone down the "my friend drew this, put it on my skin please" route before and have been disappointed with the result, not through bad tattooing but rather the changes that had to be made to get it done.

I'm not trying to put you off or anything, just sharing some experience and apologies if you've heard it before. :thumb:

The friend isn't a tattoist but she has a fair few herself, she designed them all and they all look awesome!

The tattooist i'll be using is also a good friend who has been doing it for a number of years and even tattoo's himself.

I trust/know both of them well enough that whatever design choices they make will be in the general direction that I want to go in. Obviously I won't get anything done until I'm 100% happy with it because I'm going to have it for a LONG while. At the moment I only have a folder full of pictures that I've found that give the general idea.

Good stuff, would love to see the design and/or finished product as western dragons seem to be a rarity (aside from poop flash pieces from dodgy scratchers)!

My next tattoo is going to be inside my lower lip, not really for showing off just a personal thing I want done and it's not a piece I'd want elsewhere.

Absolutely, not sure when I'll be able to get it done due to a distinct lack of funds but as soon as I'm happy with the design I'll post it here. :thumb:

What are you getting done on your lip?

That is exactly the kind of scratcher tattoo I was referring to. Poor guy (funny chat log though)! :duh:

As for my lip, the idea years ago was to have something ridiculously offensive in there for the lulz but that has since changed (thankfully) to a stick-like person pulling out a tooth. I have a fear of dentists after a bad experience as a child (don't ask) and I had a very badly impacted wisdom tooth that needed extracting along with part of my jaw. Anyway, it took an age to finally get something done via the NHS and the original plan was to have it done under general anaesthetic which was downgraded to sedation to get a speedier appointment. On the fateful day I decided to hell with it, faced my fears and braved the whole experience under plain local and the tat is to celebrate it (along with paying a visit to my tattooist to discuss my next big piece (3/4 sleeve + shoulder).

The tattoo in the first pic, looks awesome. If you are going to have this design then it will really enhance your personality. Rather then this you can also have quotes tattoos on your body. These quotes tattoo looks attractive and decent.

one is from the band trap them, one is from the band red fang, and one is a hunter metroid.

been ages since I posted in this thread... so here goes:

This was on day "0" (and posted somewhere on this forum before):

And this is after touch-ups and some healing:

To give you an idea, even my friends with LOTS of tatts at first didn't believe it was ink, but rather blamed my other half for mucking about again.
The amount of comments I get when I wear normal t-shirts is insane, and chicks seem to love it. ;)
