    Yea, but there's a reason for that. The '71 GTO's are the most sought after GTO's made. Plus there were only about 6,000 GTO's made in '71 and about 300 with the Judge package. The only thing I don't like about this car that I would have to change are the wheels. I want the white honeycomb mags like the Judge in THIS picture.

    Nice, but I've wanted a '71 GTO since I was a teenager. But I would settle for a Boss 302/350 if I absolutely had to ;)


    Bard: Believe me, if I am able to get that car, there will be pics. There will be LOTS of pics - probably even a website to chronicle my restoration... :D

    Don't do REGULAR insurance on that baby, Try Hagerty... They specialize in showcars and classics, and are MUCH less expensive than your standard full coverage on the "Everyday Driver"

    They are nationwide but their Headquarters are in my town...

    Sorry everyone! Yes, I was caught up in that blackout - stupid thing lasted almost 2 days for me. I hate NYSEG (New York State Electric & Gas) :grr:

    I've actually been on vacation since Thursday too and haven't been online. Good timing with the vacation isn't it? Take Thursday through Tuesday off and the stupid electricity goes out. Did have fun with the kids though. It's nice not to have computers, tvs or video games every once in a while.

    As for the car, got good news and bad news. Got the loan, but my Credit Union wouldn't consider it a "car loan" because of it's age and would only approve it as a personal loan. Their max is $10k, I have about $8k to blow on whatever, the car was $25k. The math doesn't add up :grr: Oh well, I've waited this long for my dream car, I can wait a little longer. The fun is the hunt to find one! :D Besides, I didn't realize the damn thing only has a 400ci engine and not a 455ci like a Judge is supposed to have.

    Nah, not really. I've been saving money for a car like this for years now (remember, I'm 35) and figure that now is the time I should go for it.

    Actually, that's exactly who I plan on going with. I don't want to get into an accident with a car like this and have my insurance company not cover the cost to repair it.
