    This is not really the appropriate thread to discuss your politics right now.

    yeh youre so right on that

    al quaeda trying to talk for all of islam. bush talking for all of america, and blair talking for all of great britain.

    but most muslims dont agree with al quaeda, most americans dont agree with bush and most brits dont agree with blair...

    so its a bunch of individuals trying to speak for everyone. but now that this has happened its gonna be a bunch of 'i told you so's' going around and this will somehow be used to justify the war in iraq

    it might sound cold but when i found out i thought hundreds of people would be dead i was kind of suprised to hear at first like only 5 people now they saying 40 people so thats not too bad considering how bad it COULD have been.

    too true, tube attacks its easy to have a double bomb, which cuts off oxygen and is very very nasty (using regular explosives).

    from whats been said these were plain bombs too, none of the splinter ones Isrial has seen!

    But my concern is how (mostly ignorant) people will take this, and treat other people, its fair to say theres a lot of a racail tension in hackney at present (often due to 'posative' discrimination) lets just hope no one makes too much off this tradgedy.

    40 people, that many die on the roads each day, if anyone stops living their life fully because of this, then regretably the terrorist will actually win.

    I think its largely true that our nations and our religious communities haven't had a moderate voice in a while which may be part of the problem

    its all extreme right or extreme left with everyone, nobody walks down the middle of the road

    the last true moderate in the US was Kennedy... in the 60's!

    I hate this.
    No warning. Nothing. Completely out of the Blue.

    ******s.
    I hope everyone is okay, and safe, and my thoughts are with london.
    And I hope whoever is responsible for this, dies the most painful death ever.

    According to their BS note, they say they warned the government "many times." That means they made this crap about "Get out of Iraq or we'll kill you, you infidels." One thing's for sure, your gov't will have the full support of our country in your hunt.

    @bort,
    Not quite true. There's quite a few moderates, though it has gotten much, much worse over the years. I do agree with yoda here, we may want to defer the political discussions to another thread.

    @animus,
    Very true that this many people die on the roads. Accidents happen. The problem is that this was no accident. Fortunately, it was lower than it could've been, but let's be careful not to trivialize that sacrifice. I don't think you'd like one of your family to be one of the 40. I see your point, just saying to be careful cause it's easy to grow callous when the numbers aren't in the thousands. For your posts on tensions, I agree completely...the backlash against the muslim community could be pretty bad, and I feel for the majority of them who want even less to do with Al Qaeda than we do.

    @keltic,
    Good luck! Stay safe!

    This is why i'm moving to a less politically active country.... hello bulgaria!

    in 2008...

    Tis a damn shame it had to happen to ordinary civilians, i wouldnt be bothered if it were a member of the government as they haven't done much to help this country in recent years.

    Yea.

    I just heard an interview with one Scottish guy (was only on Reporting Scotland, so most of you wouldn't have heard it) who was on the bus that exploded. He said that there was a guy in front of him who kept rummaging in his bag before the bomb went off. It's scary to think that he could have been trying to detonate the bomb then. Luckily he, along with a few others got off the bus shortly before the blast to walk, as the traffic was so bad. He was only 10 yards away when the bomb went off.

    Scary.

    i know this might sound incensitive to some people but todays happenings has messed up life for us in london but i dont feel as bad as i did when i watched the twin towers fall in NYC few years back....now that was F*cked up.....i mean will all the death an destruction happening in the world...like the war in iraq an what not....this just seems tame incomparison.

    i know its not a good thing people have died but in the larger scale of things other coutrys have had it ALOT worse!.

    when i watched the twin towers fall.....even people whom waere trying to save the victims became victims themselfs,the war in iraq...many other senseless deaths.

    death an destruction is all around us.....i think this situation is not as bad as it seems.....the only thing i can see is how the hell im gonna get to work on saturday.

    we have excelent emergancy services,hospitals an excelent security services in this country but its never enough to be complacent an think this would have never happned.

    but life must go on....but allways remember anything could happen anywhere and at anytime.
