All the pics for this project log have been arranged into the official pictorial log here. All the pictures in one easy to read place. Hi all After the big success of my Blackmesa HL²case I received e-mail from Gabe Newel@valvesoftware, and he asked me if I can build a similar case to use in their main conference room to show game's demo... well, that was an offer I cannot refuse The case will not be really similar to Blackmesa because there are some parts I used that I can not find now but I m going to do it with all new stuff, top hardware , top watercooling stuff , and of course ,full paintjob in the HL² spirit., then I can say that this case will be a really optimal and performance gaming bomb , able to display the game in higher definition with the maximum details on a big size screen Well , some hardware pics now : HARDWARE : antec sx 1040 bII black (psu400w) Intel Pentium 4 3.0 GHz Socket 478 0.13 micron FSB800 DFI LANPARTY PRO875 (Intel i875P) Corsair Twinx 1024 Pc3200LL (cas2) Western Digital Raptor 36.7 Go 10000 RPM 8 Mo Serial ata Pioneer DVD- Slot In IDE Ortek Clavier Office Noir Qwerty US Logitech MX500 Performance Optical Mouse ASUSTeK AX800 PRO/TD - 256 Mo DVI/TV-Out WATERCOOLING : 1A-COOLING WATERBLOCK 1A-HV2 Eheim 1048 pump AQUACOMPUTER RÉSERVOIR AQUATUBE REV 1.1 - TITANE AQUACOMPUTER FIX RES PANEL Black Ice II Xtreme Radiator DOUBLE FANGRILL HTF2 TUBE 8X10 orange UV reactiv That's actually what I ordered to start this project no screen because this Demo pc is going to display by one 120 cm plasma screen well, mod on
Wow, nice Valve contacted you for this! Hope this one works out as well. I have confidence it will. Good luck!
Im sure he got sick of all us BT users who were emailing him saying "PLEASE LOOK AT THIS MASTERPIECE!" Congrats bud, not every day that a guy is asked to make a display case for a respectable company =) Again, congratulations
I don't know why, but that was pretty predictable. If Valve didn't hire you, they'd be nuts . Piloux is one of the pros now. I'm proud of Belgium ৄৄৄ
i'm about to piss my self in anticipation as to how this turns out i bet it'll be just as kewl as your other mods good luck
Just plain nice! Hey and greets from Finland! First off, congratulations on the new project, i know this will be fantastic mainly because of your previous works of art. Hope things run smoothly with this one, mod on On another topic I noticed that you added a link which leads to your alu case pics (nice setup by the way). Just to notify you that people will have access to other folders there also, so just checking if you know it and if it's your actual meaning to start with. Well happy moddings anyway
Congratulations Piloux sure, it must be great recieving the praise from all the fellow modders here at BT, but actually getting asked by Valve to do the official release machine has to be the biggest recognition possible.. As someone said, not very surprising, but very very nice news. Again, congratulations!
gah you are one lucky guy, making up a comp for valve=dream cant wait to see this one develop im sure it will be as good as the last. also where did you get the uv tubing from?
Man, that is so cool. Congrats, must feel great! Good luck with the mod! Should be great with all that top notch hardware
All i can say is they took long enough to open their eyes! I was wondering why they didnt drop a couple 10's of k on you for the one you already made! Well now the light at the end of the moding tunnle has closed from my view. You now officially are the master modder. Congrats man!
Wow, congratulations on the recognition. That really is cool that something you did as hobby turned into a contract job. And from a respectable company, no less. Again, congratulations. After seeing all the hard work you put into the Blackmesa HL²case, I'm kind of surprised that you are using so much standard equipment on this one. As you said, this case will be different, but done in the same style; however, I think the custom reservoirs and other assorted handmade bits really made the HL² case what it was. I can only assume that the pictures in the first post will be the last time we see any of those parts in their natural, un-modded state? Regardless, if your previous cases are any indication, we are in for another treat. /me sits back and grabs protective eyewear and a bag of popcorn -monkey
congrats I hope this sytem will be ready soon. Otherwise the can't launch HL2 1 thing i was asking myself, why a pentium 4Ghz, and no Extreme Edition or annother fast CPU. Just because HL2 won't take more CPU load?
I think that a prescott 3.0 ghz is enough to run HL²well well, I only choose intel because I like a lot the dfi motherboard with orange uv parts ...
Congratulations! I think it would be better to go with the top of the line products. Like X800XT instead of Pro. I don't think Valve wants the awesome graphics power being held back at all . Good luck anyways
