Hi all

My first post.

I have just ordered my new internals for a gaming PC i am builing. i have built office Pc's before and have just used 450W PSU's but this is my first Gaming PC.

I have put a list of the components i am going to be using but am unsure as what size PSU to use.

I was thinking of a Corsair TX750w, but i have heard that if the PSU isn't large enough it tends to fry things.

I have read the Graphics card and CPU cooler i am planning on using are large power users.

My PC spec was inspired by the DEC issue of Custom PC AMD article. I do love AMD but once the sandy bridge came out they seem to of fell behind until recently.

anyway here is the list, would a 750w be good enough all advice and opinions welcome.

Proc
AMD FX-8350 4GHz Socket AM3+ 16MB black edition

MOBO
Asus Crosshair V Formula AM3+ AMD 990FX SB950 DDR3

Proc Cooling
Corsair Hydro Series H100 High Performance

G/card
Gigabyte ATI Radeon 7950 HD 800MHz 3GB PCI-E HDMI Windforce 3X OC

RAM
Corsair 32GB DDR3 1866MHz Vengeance Memory

SSD
OCZ 120GB Agility 3 SSD

2nd HD
Seagate 2TB Barracuda Internal Hard Drive

I am NOT planning on overclocking anything either, in case that makes a difference

Thank you for reading, sorry if its a bit mix and match,

Swanny

Did I miss something?

On a more serious note the TX750 is more than up to the job.

550W will suffice from what I can see.

750 is more than enough. The Be Quiet mentioned above is a great choice.

550W is plenty as others have said. If you're planning to get a second card for CrossFire, you might want a 650-750W though.
