There are far too many guns in games that I love. Goldeneye's auto shotgun was a good laugh (or was it a semi?). Q3 Arena's Rocket launcher. Just about any gun on UT99 (INCLUDING the BioRifle)
Why are you waiting? Just download and have some fun Need to agree that the RC-P90 is one of the best guns of all time.
Obscure references time! The Machine Gun in Requiem: Avenging Angel. Yes the game had blood boiling, turning to salt, posession, flight, bullet time, nuclear rail-guns, but nothing, and I mean nothing came close to how stupidly over-powered and plain awesome the machine gun was. You could feel the bullets tearing the limbs off the bad-guys. Oh happy days. The Realms of the Haunting Staffs Past the first few Earth-bound guns in ROTH, most of the game is played with a selection of different staffs. Each one has a different effect, powered by infinite ammo but with a recharge. Uniquely amongst games (I believe) is the recharge is tracked even if you've not equipped that particular weapon. As such, given each recharge can be up to five seconds for some staffs, most of the game is spent rapidly hopping between the different staffs, trying to guess when the rechange has been completed. It made for a totally memorable and amazingly tense way to conduct a firefight. Every single gun from Gunslinger Quake 2. The greatest mod ever made: a western TC for Quake 2, the game featured a selection of incredible Wild West firearms. From the pistols (themselves leathel) through to the Winchester, Pump-Action Shotty, Coachgun, the greatest Sniper Rifle ever made, Molotovs and even a Cannon (with wheels and everything), it was a truely heavenly experience. No other Western game has even come close, and I doubt it ever will. Lets ride!
Oh hell yah! "Slaughtered by the river of souls..." If you could beat a level in Turok 2, you were dedicated man.
The ever so amusing, Personal Ion Cannon http://www.cncden.com/images2_ren/big_ioncannon.jpg But i always had a soft spot for dual weild needler in Halo 2 Sam
The spinfusor from Tribes. First weapon you see fired in this video - clicky - and notoriously difficult to master. Featured heavily in this video because it is all about skill
+ 1 For the spinfusor in tribes 2, incredible if coupled with lightclass armour Being able to propel yourself in any direction with some luck (dare I say skill?) you could easily get out of sticky situations especially if chased when holding the flag.
Easier than grenade-jumping I loved playing in a 'realistic' mod because people had almost no energy for jetting, so I was zipping across the map off of grenades
In terms of real weapons in games, I've always liked the G36 series of guns, although you only really see the G36C which is a shame
