Hi everyone, This is a really small problem and doesn't affect the function of my computer, just gets the OCD part of my head on edge. I upgraded to Win 10 pro back at launch and to the undiscerning eye everything has been fine. However, some of the system tray icons from windows 8 have persisted through the upgrade and the whole thing just doesn't feel like other Win 10 systems I've used. I can't quite put my finger on it, but it feels like the upgrade got me to 'Win 9.9' - not quite the full shilling. Specifically the remove hardware icon in this instance: still looks like this When it should look like this Call me paranoid but if it's underlining that the upgrade didn't do it's job completely then who knows what else didn't happen. I've googled around and can't find anyone with the same thing, or at least, is complaining about it. Thanks in advance
You've probably already tried something like this but have you tried resetting the notification area icons?
Just tried that, no luck. Looking around it seems a lot of people actually have that icon so maybe it's not as worrying as I thought. Could be something to do with upgrading instead of fresh installing.
Run Code: sfc /scannow in an admin command prompt and see if that helps. It's cured a few little niggles for me sometimes.
Nope didn't fix it. Another difference is this: On another windows 10 system the taskbar right click looks like this While mine is this There's quite a few little things like this that make me scratch my head.
Yup thats the ticket, both of the issues I pointed out are fixed and hopefully any I hadn't yet noticed are too. Thanks for your help guys, +rep for all
