You make it all seem so simple and logical, as though results of this quality could be achieved by simply putting in the hours. Of course that's a lie, a falsehood sir, propagated by you. Most of us are simply incapable of this kind of craftsmanship.

"The mark of a true artist is that they make it look easy." I forget who first said that, but it definitely applies here.

Thank you for the kind words everybody.

I feel bad that I haven't been able to get back to this :sigh: My own projects get neglected so I can pay the bills. I do look over at it everyday and think about the next stage. I planned to mount the 3mm white leds in the top of the bezel next, to create a subtle lighting effect.

You got my vote too, excellent work, can't wait to see how this ends up. Also an adjustable voltage regulator with an appropriate variable resistor make a power fan/LED adjustable controller.

sponsorship pfft ..... buy it you self ...

    How ever nice mod ...

you don't build these mods for sponsorship .. you build them for the love of the project. if you deliberately go out for sponsorship you going to fail.

Not that I want to speak for Bill, but I feel what you are implying is wrong. I am pretty sure he has every intention of doing this project with or without any sponsorship. Plus, there is no fail in trying for sponsorships. Any modder should be 'trying' for that (though you have to work very hard to actually get their attention). In this case, any hardware company would be doing itself a favor in associating with this project. The amount of views that Bill's work recieve are usually astronomical.

    http://forums.bit-tech.net/showthread.php?t=166319

This project for example, it has over 87k views. Bill did the modding on that one. Many companies were very quick to jump all over it, and the results for them were worth way more than the little parts they sent out. Win win for both the modder and the hardware companies.

Agreed, Modding is one hell of an expensive hobby, I would use a pentium 3 if thats all I had to work with. Sponsorship is a 2 way thing. The modder gets to pursue their hobby and also gives the readers of this site something to look at and the companies get extremely cheap advertising to their target audience.

Bill is one of the most prolific modders in the scene at the moment and definately one of the most skilled that I know of. His work has inspired me to do my own mods and all of his mods are worthy of sponsorship! Not only that he contributes to this site more than most and sponsors modders himself.

Should consider these things before passing judgement....

On a lighter note gratz for the motm mate and you get my vote!
