thanks everyone! im really glad you like it!

yes, when i took those pics, the brightness was still at 100% and it looks even worse in those pics.
now i set it to 10% for the top and 20% for the buttom and its bright enough. the difference is because you usually look at the case from a slightly higher position and down on it. that makes the buttom light look darker.

also i did some temperature testing. i let prime95 (Custom Run + Run FFT in-place) run for little over one hour and the maximum temperature was at 63/60°C for the two cores.
im very happy with the results, especially because the system will hardly ever be stressed like that.

 

The level of your work places you on the top 10 at least...I am really impressed by this tiny little jewel....awesome

 

You comment about thermal paste, reminds me of my installation in my Streacom case. I did the same thing while trying to juggle getting all the heat pipes in place and then adding the clamps and screws.

Great work on the case.

 

If that were commercially available I'd have one parked under the television now!!

i did some more testing and measured the power consumption with different brighness levels for the top/buttom LEDs.

Windows Idle 0/0%: 16-17 Watt
Windows Idle 10/20%: 17-19 Watt
Windows Idle 100/100%: 25-32 Watt

Not bad for my 4 or 5 year old ivy bridge setup.
This also means, in my use case the lights need about 2 watts extra. that is less than in expected.

i hope i will find some time to take some new final pictures within the next few days.
