    hi guys

case kenya will going to be my fourth mod .this case is basically a design that was bothering me in my head for the last two months and finally i put the idea into paper . the project will be done as a group from guys who are here in kenya too.

the design is inspired from the shape of kenya .i won't talk to much about the walkthrough ,mainly the pics will tell .

    Welcome to bit-tech. :)

Those concept drawings look to be on the plus side of awesome. What materials are you planning on using?

maybe use a bit thinner sheet for the side panels. The design is very cool. you can work on the renders though. You can get a lot of great advice HERE. I will be following this.

4mm and 5mm thick materials are pretty heavy mate. They are going to add a lot of weight to your case just for unnecessary strength. 5mm material is pretty close to the American 6ga material which is very heavy stuff. Its a lot thicker than you would think. I work in the RnD department at a company who makes wood stoves and fire places and we have a steel stove line. Our steel stoves bodies are made out of 3ga, 7ga and 10ga and they are heavy as hell and stand up to a lot of use+immense heats. Considering the abuse those things take I think an 14ga or 16ga material (about 1.6mm for 14ga and 1.3mm for 16ga) would be plenty especially if you design your parts with bends to improve structural integrity. We also have a BBQ line and the heaviest material we use on those is 18ga. Given its Stainless steel and not Al but even so. I would strongly recommend using a lighter material for this build unless you plan on abusing the living hell out of it or stacking large amounts of weight on top of it

Looks interesting :thumb: Looking forward to see how will you build the frame... It depends on how you want to joing the parts together, but I would think that 4-5mm for frame and 1.5-2mm for the rest would be ok....

agreed, if your design was done well which which seems to be the case by the looks of it then this should be just fine

well even 3mm for some of the panel parts. for instance don't use 1,5mm for a big flat panel, it can be flimsy. but 2mm is perfect for most of it.
