Awesome work so far guys! I love the mini-ITX waterblock - fantastic idea! I may need to make one of those soon myself!

    thx a lot m8´s!!! :thumb:

one of them was a lucky find on ebay (a few month ago)...the other one is salvaged out of a damaged macbook :thumb:

and now it´s time for the next update :D

In the last days we spent a bit of time on the front lid of the case...it should be motorised so we had to integrate a motor on the inside of the case...so we got this nice little one (gm14a) which has enough torque to move the lid up and down....

then we took the "brakes" out of the front (normally they slow down the movement of the lid, so we had to get rid of them) and rebuild them from a sheet of metal and their original gears just without the breaking function.....

then we put both in and fixed the motor in its position....

as next we´re going to build the electronics based on an arduino duemilanove and a L293D H-Bridge....i think it will look something like this...just with 1 more motor ...

Beside the work on the front lid we also made another radiator grill for the 200mm radiator bedind the front....:D

and last but not least...we started to paint the inside of the case :thumb:

In the last days we continued the painting process so that we could start the final assembly as soon as the hardware arrives :thumb:

I dont want to detract from the obviously great work here, because its great stuff, top modding...

But does nobody think that the mechanisms are just ridiculously noisy?

True, that's the only thing that would be nice to see evolve in these types of movement mods, a nice sweet robotic type noise when parts move but I guess that would bump the cost up high.

Other than that though it's awesome stuff & I will be wanting to learn a lot about motor mods in the future.:dremel::cooldude:

The paint work & the cut outs are awesome too.

Just throwing a suggestion in here, if you haven't already done so, put some grease all over the gears. it will cut down the noise immensely.

    thx!!

yeah thats true, but that´s mainly because everything is relatively loose...we just put everything together to see if the mechanical part works like it should....later when everything is finally assembled it should be better...

yeah we will do that as soon as we finally assemble everything...:thumb:

And now it´s time for the next update

After starting the paintjob...we wanted to finish it....so we continued the painting process on the outside....

beside that we also cut out a hex mesh pattern which matches the mesh inside of the sidepanels....it will be placed behind the window....
