Hi. I;ve been out of the loop for some time now, I remember a program back in the day with the name "everest" or similar, It would scan your system for hardware and search for updated/recomended drivers from the web. Is there anything like this these days or better than what everest was? I'm still running XP if that helps.
Everest still exists, but it doesn't search for drivers and has never done that. You must confuse it with something. But there are tools for exactly what you want, such as Driver Magician.
I have tampered with 1 or 2 automatic driver programs and found them all to be rather poor. I'm not saying that they are not worth a try, buy don't expect "magic" as the name suggests.
