Get over it epic and all of you crap console developers; I'm not buying one unless it costs 50$ and their games 5$. F*ck you.

    Greetings!

Why does a game console developer like Epic needs to try to justify not making PC games?

because they fancy themselves as a pc dev also although they haven't released anything decent since UT Y2K.

i dont care that its not coming to pc, thats fine its poo. I just wish Epic (and by extension cliffy b) would shut up and get on with it

Because they were made by the PC gamers, and they try to forget that PC gamers have long, long memories by and large. Console gamers don't seem to, or why would the 'corridor, room, cutscene, repeat corridor, repeat room, cutscene, rinse 'n' repeat until end of level' model of map design succeed so well on consoles?

As for their reasoning... "Gears of War did not exceed our expectations"... um, that's probably because Epic's expectations were unreasonably high. It was one of the first games to be infected with Games for Windows (Live), so many people avoided it; it was horribly, horribly delayed, when compared to the 360 version, so most of the people who were interested in it had likely already bought, played, completed and got bored with it; and it was one of those games I label as a '3P' game - Piss Poor Port.

However, my first response to the headline was "and nothing of value was lost". I'm sure most of the people who want GoW3 have 1 and 2 on the 360 anyway. It would also make little sense to release 1 and 3 on the PC, and not 2... but when did sense enter into the equation when $$$ is at stake?

Translated: Microsoft are paying us too much money to keep it on the 360.

Seriously, I don't give a flying f***, but how the hell can you even play a shooter on a console!? Any PC n00b could rip console players a new one just because the n00b has proper controls... f*** consoles.

A decision made for purely capitalist reasons - never mind quality of product, never mind expansion of market penetration, hell, never mind 'just for old times' sake'. They didn't even say that creating a PC version would stop the creation of a new game. It would stop the creation of an Xbox patch and some DLC for the already released game.
Purely about the money and nothing else.
Whilst deep down you can't argue with someone chasing as much of a payday as possible, I would like to not see any further comments from Epic claiming to be 'in it for the PC Gamers', as I'm afraid this is unfortunately not true and would in future be quite insulting, as we are obviously not worth their time.

I say good on Epic for being honest. Don't pay lip service to PC gaming and port some crap over. Stick to your guns and do what you are good at. Gears is a completely unremarkable game anyway, so I don't see PC gaming being any worse off without it. Epic are probably very aware of this too.

couldn't care less really, it's not like we're missing out on something great or revolutionary anyway, it's basically the same game, same gameplay, same graphics, same crappy story, they just keep adding numbers to their titles, they are more like episodes or movie sequels than true pc games sequels just like most console sequels these days and we pc gamers still have the best and most complete version of the first game(best in series according to gears fanboys), i only played it once and havn't touched it since then...

it just pisses me off when Epic Fail claim to be pc developers and saving the pc gaming industry when their last great pc effort was UT2k4 which was 7 years ago......pathetic

MICROSOFT pays Epic to keep GoW MICROSOFT Xbox 360 exclusive, when... 99%? of PC gaming is done on MICROSOFT Windows.

"We will pay you to keep this content exclusively on AND off Microsoft products.

Suits me, I have no interest in wasting good time and money on shitty console ports anyway. Should be developed for the pc and then ported to consoles if you ask me. Surely it makes more sense to water something down for a more basic console, than to design it on a basic platform and try to make it look good on pc twice as powerful..

Focusing on market majority, makes sense they are running a business.

It's no great loss not to have GOW on Pc.

If Pc was the biggest selling platform they would, but it's not. You don't invest millions in graphics only to bin them so it can run on the majority platform.

If Gears 1 hadn't been unusable on release, delayed, and running GFWL, their sales figures might not have been in the toilet

add in the console port, it is their own fault they arent making money on the PC too.

"Because GoW 2 wasn't either?" Would of been acceptable :D

I couldn't give two singular shits about this game. More of the same run, duck and gun backed with a mildly epic soundtrack and gruff speaking unrealistically tonk super soldiers from the future who probably haven't seen their dicks in 10 years.

Anyway, wheres all these games they're talking about in the pipeline..Hopefully something true to the PC in amongst them...

They should be kicked out of the PCGA, which is a TOTAL FAIL anyway. With only two game makers (Epic and Capcom) both of them make 10 times more games for consoles then for the PC anyway... They probably started it a few years back to get rid of all the outraged PC gamers; "see we are good, we even started a alliance for PC! You can stop being angry now..."

This would matter if GoW was actually any good.

However, GoW turned out to be a steaming pile of donkey turd. So, who cares?
