New question - which wheels to keep?

I've decided on 'Gunmetal Grey' but i've also bought another set of wheels.

I cant decide which set of wheels to keep! Both are 15x195/50 and whichever I keep will be refurbed and painted 'Gunmetal Grey'. Im incline to go with the new ones as they are more suited to the car and less 'boy racer'.

    Opinions?

Go for the new ones! As you said...MUCH less boyracery! (Unless of course that's the look you're after)

If you squint enough, the new ones almost look like the GTI wheels (the BBS ones). I'd keep them as is (colour) TBH.

That's quite a lot of squinting and even more almost!!

But they're certainly better than the others. Whatever you do, get some bloody gel/spray on those tyres ASAP!

Just wondering as I will start driving soon, how old are you and how much did your insurance cost?

I love the wheels that you had first, in Gunmetal I think they'd look awesome.

But I can also see the others. There's a Lupo round here thats on tiny little BBS rims, thats about 0.1mm off the ground that looks epic. No bodykit or anything, just Lupo GTI slammed, :D

I think eventually I'd got for the originals, if I were to put some like the second ones on, I'd have to have ones with a chrome dish on them, :D

Polo 6n2. My first car as well ;). Bloody belter they are.

What version is it? Looking at it I'd have thought it was an E/SE pimped up to look like a GTI. Just get the swish mesh grill and you're nearly done, well, apart from the rear disc brakes anyway and the engine and the exploding gear box anyway.

And I'd paint the wheels black.

EDIT: Just seen the update, someone wants a GTI eh? :p.

I've heard nothing but bad things about dressing tyres with such products, apparently it leads to the rubber of the side walls cracking?

Im 19 with 0 NCB, £1700 standard, £2300 with mods declared (alloys, scorpion exhaust, spoiler, lowering springs etc)

Yep, its a 1.0E with the following GTi parts: Honey comb grill, front spot lights, Xenon headlights, front radiator, rear spoiler, complete dash board w/ chrome dials, gear knob and gaitor.

I wasn't searching for those wheels specifically but when they came up at a very reasonable price I couldn't resist :D

I would love a GTi but the insurance alone would be £3k+!

Golf mark2 1.6 straight diesel (60ish BHP) 5800 Euro :waah:
What i don't get is that people are gettting insured on 1.9TDI golf up around 150 BHP and that would eat even an 8v mark 2 GTI off the road.

18, 1.2 Corsa, stock, 1 year NCB... £1750 fully comp. I feel guilty for being such a sponger - it's an incentive for me to get a job. No way I'm getting an R33 GTST as my second car while my dad's paying XD

Nonsense. You think I'd go ruining £500 worth of Michelins in the pic I posted earlier??

Silver car and non-blacked, dirty tyres looks gash. Sort it out. I use Meguiars Endurance Gel, but Autoglym stuff is ok, and there are other, more expensive products.

And whoever is charging you £500 for cosmetic mods and an exhaust that probably gives you 1bhp, is raping you up the ass. Talk to a proper enthusiast broker ASAP.
