    What a weird argument. You have the guy telling you it is a soft G and no one wants to hear it, still, after all these years. Feel sorry for him. No wonder he doesn't look happy holding that spring.

    On the plus point for him though, he has achieved more than most of us useless trolls and in the time being, won a giant spring. Now if he gets his PR right, he can bounce back big time. :lol:

    An' Jarf, why didn't you point out in a sarcastic weigh about the Oxford Dictionary only records usage of words; it's not an authority on what should be done.

    Also the language has been continuously evolving, and the *******isation by foreign uptakers have wrought interesting results, which can be downright incomprehensible. So, is he a British aristocrat? If he is, I'll adopt it because I'm not one to argue with master.

    still going to pronounce it with a hard g... mainly because that way even people completely unfamiliar with it(somehow) would know or easily be able to find out what you are talking about.... vs someone being confused and googing to find out wtf a jif is.

    Trouble is real world people couldn't care less, the only people who care are us geeky nerdy types, and I don't know about you but I'll argue about anything. Including scones. Or GIFs.
