Hi I bough a new LG TV/Monitor off of Amazon about 2 years ago (36 month full warranty)
Recently the monitor broke. Th problem is that every other horizontal line is missing. Oh and the fact that there are very odd vertical lines of colour all along my screen.

What I'm asking is if anyone has heard of this problem and its a software issue that can easily be fixed, or if its not and I need to submit a warranty claim.

Also if its a hardware issue how would be the easiest way to contact LG for support, because I have tried to submit a report but have been unable to do so. The server has also been down for quite a while.

    Thanks in advance

P.S. I'd be very grateful if you could help me resolve this problem.
And I nearly forgot the model name/number is M2294D-PZ.
    Thanks again

Have you tested the monitor/tv on a different system or as a standalone tv?

    Did the problem remain?

Don't see how it could be software. Have you tried it with another pc? Just submit the claim. I had a sony monitor die on me, the power button or something, not the panel, and had it repaired under warranty. Have you tried phoning them?

It's definitely a problem with the unit itself. I've tested it with no inputs except power, and it still has the same problem.

I haven't tried calling them yet. Does anyone know if the LG phone line is free to call or do you have to pay?

Their Customer Service Number is an 0844 number (chargeable)

Main Switchboard Phone number is: 01753 491500

Their Customer Service Number is: 01753 491300

Both local rate numbers so inclusive of mobile minutes.

There is no '0800' Number for LG only for sales.

If you are no longer under warranty then has the TV been subjected to any of this:
    Overheating
    Too Close to Wall
A static shock - usually continual input plugging in and out
    A surge from Mains
Any kind of impact on the reverse or screen side

If you're warranty is gone then you should really open it up and take a butchers.
Look for blown Capacitors (common with LG) - http://www.avforums.com/forums/atta...acitors-samsung-lcd-tv-le40r73bd-bad-caps.jpg

Also be careful so do not touch any big capacitors or you might get a surprise.

Can you post your Model Number - might be a common issue.
