Besides, it if should break up it should break up in the very same way it did the first time around. It would make sense since the country, in many ways, is very much two different countries culturally.

In fact, we can throw in Quebec up in Canada whilst we're at it, and for the very same reasons.

Oh please, no one should get immunity from the law in the first place.

However, regardless of the EU existing or not, the list of countries where politicians have granted themselves immunity is nearly as long as the list of countries that exists.

 

If a radicalised youth tweets violent pictures by ISIS, he's a criminal. If Marine Le Pen tweets the same pictures, it's freedom of speech.

Rather vague to be honest, which of course is the purpose. In the end it could be just about anything the government deems violent at that particular day / case / person. Very convenient.

Actually, the dissemination of violent images that “seriously violate” human dignity.

The images were tweeted with the caption “This is Daesh". They showed Foley’s bloodied body with his decapitated head on his torso, as well as a man on fire in a cage, and a victim being driven over by a tank. Of course the intention was to denounce ISIS' atrocities, but arguably you don't need to publish images of child porn to denounce that either. Whether it was ISIS doing it for one reason, or Le Pen doing it for another, the intent of publishing those images was to shock.

By the way, before people shout conspiracy, the lifting of immunity was voted on by the EU legal affairs committee, vice-chaired by an MEP from the EFDD.

 

If trump, t.may and le pen turn tail on the powers that be, that is going to be quite a pile of fireworks to stand back and watch. if the seven sisters arrive and push the boat over, I predict serious outcome to that, that wont be taken easily at all.
I think its better that France falls and we reinvade again in the future.

The thing is though that it's still up for interpretation, in any case, we would have to shut down newspapers and TV eventually. Both have managed to desensitize people to the point of them not reacting to anything but the most shocking and graphic stuff. Eventually you end up at the top of the ladder, and it's not as if you can climb down and start all over again, once you're at the top you're stuck up there.

If France were to leave the EU it would make for two major countries leaving, and the bureaucrats have invested a lot of time, money and political prestige into building their project. If the French people decide that they want to leave, and that Le Pen could be the one making it possible. They will leave. Come hell or high water.

I don't 'do' conspiracies as such, though I know that people are charged with conspiracy all the time. Besides, there need not be a conspiracy were interests converge. Now I can't tell if any of that was the reason behind the lifting of immunity, but it's politics. It's cloak and dagger.
