My main one is a 14" wide Laptop LCD screen. The one I've counted is the wife's, a 21" Diamondtron CRT
OT When i first picked up my VX910 about 2 years ago it cost over £300, nowdays, I could almost get 2x22" for that much. Yet, those 30" and 24" havn't moved much in price terms.
I have a Dell 2407WFP connected to my 15" powerbook. I use both screens at the same time. Usually I use the powerbook for IM, email, and music, and the 24" for everything else.
1) Cost, up until very recently anything over 19" was WAY too much money. 2) Higher resolution = a bigger video card = double whammy to the wallet. 3) 19" is just nicer to use than a 17": Almost every 17" I've seen was running at lower than hardware res because otherwise you hear "but that way I can't read it" - and Windows font scaling is almost useless.
Really depressing i STILL use a 15', used to have a 17' but it went bust and coughed up some smoke Can't believe my mum actually thought I was smoking in the room LOL, until I finally convinced her my monitor ACTUALLY blew up.
22" acer widescreen, but i can't get any work done without my 17" beside it. i'll probably pick up a second 22" in the fall.
Just keep an eye out. Deal sites and all. Fatwallet had a run of deals on the 37's for awhile. The 42's aren't as popular but still get some attention. They've popped up in the last two woot-offs for $1055 shipped as well. Man if only I had jumped on that.... Another thing to watch is which stores are clearing them out. I got mine when the local worst buy was selling the last of their stock. Took an hour and haggling with three people but they knocked of 400. A little luck and finding the one dude in the store who was just told by his manager to never take no for an answer. I don't really go to hard ocp but I know the westies have a religious-like following over there. I'd bet they track deals all the time.
I don't own this one but thought it was cool. tis the school's 2 high dollar projectors at about 60ft each next to each other. Then at the station they are run from there is another 8x2 (16) 21" LCD's on a huge mount paneled together. It's pretty sweet. Then the recording studio I go to has a 6x1 (6) LCD setup which I think are 17's.
19inch X2GEN LCD, and 56inch Toshiba DLP 1080P, use both screens constantly, the 19inch for sitting at the comp and the 56inch for sitting on the couch with wireless to game/watch HD movies or surf net.
