    Someone's getting fired! If HP doesn't wan't you to use 3rd party cartridges, they should just sell them as such - companies will still buy them because of brand association, but they will save themselves all this bother.

    I, for one, applaud HP for this move.

    No, seriously. The sheer brazenness of re-enabling the lockout EXACTLY one year after they disabled it is supervillain theatrics in the grand old tradition.
