I'm looking forward to more of a 'proper' X-COM game, without the UI hassles of the original UFO. Some of the losses from the Firaxis XCOM games (e.g. strategic-level issues like the lack of a geoscape, to tactical-level issues like the replacement of actual projectile pathing with a mere diceroll, or the reduction to two indivisible 'time units') went far too far in the simplification direction.

If you don't know about it already - try Xenonauts by Goldhawk games. It's a remake of the original Xcom, and it's really rather good. They are also making Xenonauts 2.
