News Mozilla pays out $385,000 to support open-source projects

    Yes its good to support other open source projects but I do recall Mozilla looking for donations to sustain themselves. They still maintain a donations page on their website.

    Something doesn't sit right with me when people are kind enough to donate to a project and then that project turns around and says that they don't really need that money and are going to give it away instead to what they believe is important.

    I understand they have other incomes from search engines and the like. I suppose my point is: Don't ask for donations if you don't need the money or rather, can afford to give away $1.6 million
