When they can magically fit one of these beasts in a 15" form factor, I will sell my car and get one. I don't have the space nor the location-stability for a fixed desktop. I hope they pair this up with a desktop grade i7 like Clevo does.

Not that it's possible at the moment, but I'd love to see the power of a 980 in a 13" or 14" slim form factor.

I thought the 980M was pretty close in performance to the 970?

4K resolution on 17" screen?? Surely 1080P is plenty even without AA and AF in some cases, boost the screen to 144hz would perhaps be better received :)

If a 980M is 970 performance in a laptop, that's easily enough for the screen size.

Are cherry reds and ips with g-sync too much to ask?

1080p on a 17" looks crap tbh, though I agree 4K is ott. 2560X1440 @ 17" would be the idea res IMO

Not everyone has perfect eyesight. 1080p would be more than enough for me at 17" or 18.4", without resorting to a magnifying glass.

Crap is very harsh word, I game at 1080P on my 27" monitor and it's still good (not great, bt AA and AF sort that out) on my 17" gaming laptop (few years old now) 1080P is plenty for gaming and desktop use (maybe for photo editing or CAD it's different, but I don't really do that at a high enough level to comment).

1440P is (for me) the ideal gaming res for a 27" monitor or a super widescreen 34" I would guess.

    4K is a waste if the artists don't animate/draw in 4K
