Case Mod - Complete ⭐ Obsidian 900 D ROG R2 (Restyling X Mod)

This is my personal PC that I have decided to revisit and that I will do in time scraps (I have to do other modes too).

It will simply be called R2.

Well, let's start with the configuration that will not change (for the moment), but it's always nice to see it.

MB: Asus Maximus VII Hero (Z97)

CPU: Intel I7 4790K with delid (from 4 to 5.1 GHz)

RAM: Corsair Vengeance 16 GB (4X4)

PSU: EVGA Supernova 1300 G2.

SSD: Samsung 840 Pro 256 GB.

VGA: 2X 980 TI (sli configuration).

The cooling parts with the description will be seen later on.

Well, let's start with the first step.

The first thing to do is review and build a new front at 900 D.

It's still a work in progress, because I'm building it as I get ideas.

Even in this work I navigate without a project, and realize what passes my head.

A glance at materials and creativity makes it a master.

The front will have to accommodate 3 Enermax TB Silence VR fans that I have modified to illuminate them.

This change is necessary because the fans in question have no lighting, but they have both performance and aesthetic requirements that I needed / needed.

For what concerns the most beautiful fans I've ever used in my fashion.

Then we'll see in detail the change and the result obtained (there will be a video, a bit long, but for those who want to see it is very interesting).

NB. I would like to emphasize that this modification will not only be done for the last 3 fans I've taken, but it has also been done for all the others.

All over 17 TB Silence VR.It's a great job.

Having said this (and I apologize for the long premise), let's come to that.

In these photos we will see the front panel that has a thickness of 1 cm, and after doing the measurements of the case I practiced the holes for the fans.

I used the Dremel with the compass holder and its cutter.

As promised in time scraps I managed to carry forward the 900 D front.

In this photo we will see the first test offset of some of the parts that make up the front (there are still pieces).

NB. The parts are still rough and must be finished.

We will also see the detail of ROG textures (but customized to my taste) on some parts, "engraved completely by hand ....."

Well, let's go ahead.

The parts that make up the front have been finalized.

In these photos we will see:

Preparing and drilling for I / O pushbuttons.

Manual stencil drawing and cutting for frontal backlighting (when the front will be painted,at the embossed parts will be applied additional stencils with the final graphics, and the embossed parts will have the final backlighting, following the photos understands well the procedure).

All finished parts ready for painting (later you will understand even better what has to come out).

All the parts in detail (NB: be careful to the engravings of the ROG texture, modified and designed in according to my taste,and in the detail with a dirty black, you see the result).I still remember that the engravings were executed completely by hand.

First steps painting of the front.

After placing the stencils, 3 hands of opaque black on all sides.

The pieces are still to be finished (a lot to finish) but you start to see the very aggressive muzzle of R2.

I'll have a lot to do with gluing.

A day of work between the making of the pieces, engraving and gluing.

But it still lacks work to finish it.

Later, designing this simple stencil at accurate measure for the backlight of MB's I / O cover was a real nightmare.

The stencil must be in a precise position and be matched with precise measurements and distances (there is no margin of error in the preparation before painting).

I had to bring it to the software a draft made with a pen...

NB: I apologize for the dirty paint hand, but I do not use the gloves because I lose sensitivity and control of any tool.
