Not much to say atm this is what the machine looks like at the moment:

what is planned for the future?

VFD Bit -Tech one me thinks as it fits in a single drive bay....
Tidying up the inside of the case, a bit messy in there right now
Replace the standard Lian-Li window panel with something nicer...

some details on the Live! drive and DVD mod here the Rheo is a rip off from your design macroman  the pots used are from maplin 10k with on off switch FW42V and a QB68Y so the backlight for the individual knobs as well as the red indicator switches on off with the fan. the electronics part is from a tip on overclockers, very simple but is working okay....

this isn't a diss, but why does everyone by lian-li cases and mod them they all look indentical?
they look nice but they are all the same with just different bay conversions at the front

I can only speak for myself but the reason I chose the Lian-Li is that I like the design of the PC-70 nice and clean lines.

Some mods in progress at the moment that are not on the front of the case, hopefully I will have them done and some pics posted by tonite....

i think a lot of people bought them when they first turned up, and only just got round to modding them maybe?.

I have a pc65 with the window, and the reason you see many similar mods is becuase they look best with either stealthed or painted or remoddeled faceplates on the cd drives so they match up with the rest of case

hope you like it...... any questions on how something was done just ask.....

oh and btw dont ever mod your PSU unless you know what you are doing..... theres like things in there that can seriously kill you

    :dude:

oh and yes I know that the blue ring is not as bright as the red parts thats because I ran out of 4mm plexi and had to use some thin stuff I had kicking about I'll replace it as soon as I have a chance

    :D

    nice work. 2 questions though

how big is the etch? theres nothing really to compare it to for size.

what did you etch it with? if you used a dremel what bit did you use?

The etch is about 85mm across its fitted in the hole for the 92mm fan the plexi was etched with a dremel (well a cheap ass homebase rip off) the bit is like a tiny straight cutting router bit as far as I remember it came with the tool.

I can't make out the pictures...why does the etch appear black when not lit up? It also appears to be thicker than the surrounding plexi?

the black in the non lit pics is the template I used to see what to etch as I know I wouldnt be able to etch it freehand... just a printout of the symbol....

the etched parts are thinner than the rest of the plexi sheet

thats some nice etching, i did a little one on my case as well. etching is not too hard, but it is VERY time consuming.... even moreso than regular dremeling. however, with patience (and a few spare hours) it is very rewarding. nice job.
