    hi all,

for some reasons i had reinstalled winxp home. i followed some guideline on the net and now i can go to window update without reactivation. however window is always reminding to activate through pop up message. how can i get rid of this message or it will go away after 30 days by itself. actually my winxp copy is bought however i had reactivated many times and had upgrade some hardwares and microsoft had refused my activation 3 weeks ago and i did not want to explain with them via phone.

please give me some advice if i should have to activate or just ignor the message since i can perform window update.

i just worry i cannot run the os after 30 days limit.

    please give your expert assistance.

    thanks

Install Windows 2000 maybe ? It'd be an upgrade at teh least in stability and security.

Also go into the admin tools, and services, and disable alerter and messenger (make sure to also stop teh services). I don't know if Home edition has that though . . .

Essentially whether you own it or not, you're still asking to get around the product activation.

If you cannot activate it, you need to discuss this with MS.
