As this is my first project ive decided to start on something that doesn't matter if I goof up,I will update here when I progress. Here a few stock pics complete with ancient components it came with. You can comment on my project here Phase 1: stripping Old components Phase 2: The begining Started checkerplating, only did the bottom as I will plate the optical drive cage when ive pretty much finished the case.
Agree with post above, many of us hate clicking on links, going back, and clicking more. Add at the end. c_d
thats a huge case, and the stuff is almost as old as the stuff i pulld out of the old gateway case im modding atleast it looks like its deaper then mine.. i can barely fit a atx mobo between the back and the cd-rom holder. best of luck to ya!
Awsome case, Dont throw out those parts, can always come in handy. Ill keep checking on this mod, looks as it will be something good. Best of luck to ya.
nice job so far, but i think that window may be a bit too close to the edges of the case. it may make it difficult to remove the side panel. that happened to me the first time i cut a window, and i couldnt get the case off easily because it had to slide back about 2cm to get it off and the plexi blocked the way. unless you know it wont be a problem i suggest you modify your window design and make it a bit smaller.
Final Design My huge piece of perspex has arrived so im ready to start cutting my side panel tomorrow (hopefully) and ive decided to go for this design, but I am willing to change it if I come up with something better between now and tomorrow seeing as the guide lines are done with washable pen for now. I know its not exaclty an original design but its something easy for me to cut and I really like it. Thoughts?
Sorry i havn't updated for a while but all you have missed is that i have redesigned the side panel, cut it out and sprayed it:
your images have exceed the bandwith and all so really cant say on your project sounds like it is comeing along great.
.::Log Entry::. Had a bit of spare time (at last) to do a bit of modding, cut a couple of 80mm blowholes above the hole for the psu: A picture of them filed down and a couple of fans test mounted: (please egnor the state of the case chassis as this will be delt with towards the end of the project ) In the dark: Also purchased a pair of folding chest handles which will be fixed on later in the project: And we took a trip to our local car scrap yard in search for a Nissan Bluebird wing vent (no luck) but came back with this which is pretty cool:
.::Log Entry::. Been quite buisy today Modified to top of the chassis to accommodate a 120 mm fan: I know it looks a bit ghetto but this wont be seen as the car vent will cover it up on the top panel. Also cut a couple of 120 mm blowholes up front: I started off by just cutting the holes in the original front but it became a challenge due to the raised area and the air holes, so I decided to cut the blow holes on a piece of alluminium first and then pot rivet it in place of the original front.
