    The sooner mainstream motherboards ship with SATA 6Gb/s and USB3 the better.
    The more upgrade options and future proofing people have the better.

    Good times. Current rig should see me through to the end of next year, by which time I hope SSDs with 300+MB/s sustained read/write and SATA 6Gb/s / USB 3 motherboards will be hitting mainstream.

    I'm holding off upgrading and waiting for USB3.0 and SATA 6GB/s.

    No point blowing £200 quid on a mobo thats gonna be obsolete in a few months time.

    I'm still on a Q9650 and Asus Commando P965 @4.0Ghz!

    I just bought a Intel 160Gb G2 :(

    It's already obsolete?... Maybe in a couple of years or when sandybridge comes, I'll buy a new pc and include a new SSD

    that is indeed the card, had one in at work the other day, seems asus was shipping them with the asus maximus 3 formula as a bonus..

    Maybe I'm missing something but 8 * 314MB/s = 2512Mb/s is still less than 3Gb/s, isn't it?

    Just read the Custom PC article.
    What's the point of boards having SATA 6 Gb/s if the control chip has less bandwidth than that talking to the southbridge?

    Doesn't the Asus P7P55D-E PRO (and above I think) have a PLX chip to provide proper bandwidth for SATA 3 and USB 3?
